There were some other failures and once I got SDL_Perl here installed, I'll
check them and see if SDL::Perl needs patches or just my code..

I thought with a CVS (or something equal/better) repository we had fixed
that e.g. we don't need to rely on your having time to release a
snapshot, and everyboy can just check the current status.

no easy access via svn. And you could pull the nightly (or weekly) build,
make a diff to your release, and then supply a patch.
Of course, it would be much easier if anybody could just work on the same
code basis. Maybe you should get a real 'puter :)

Just for the record, Irrlicht doesn't do audio. So you could combine it with

As I wrote: a mess which can partly be explained that both sides want to (or
