Hi Dee, Did you google SSKI? SSKI is a saturated solution of potassium iodide KI...hence it being labeled SS (saturated solution) KI. There is potassium iodide (which is a salt) and iodine (which is a halogen). They are different and different parts of the body need KI (such as the thyroid)
