Hello,
I've made a boot floppy image that can be used to turn an old PC into a
router between a speedtouch modem and a home ethernet network. Anyone
interested can download it from
http://www.pond-weed.com/speedtouch/index.html
I hope someone will find it useful.

I was able to connect to the internet, but my browser would not respond,
and to disconnect from the internet, I had to shut the linux down.
I read the FAQ, and included usepeerdns in /etc/ppp/peers/options, but
it didn't seem to help any.
Thank you very much

Everything seems OK until I issue the command: br2684ctl -b -c 0 -a 0.0.35.

Does anyone have any ideas about this. Obviously the state of something is

Hello,
I've just installed the drivers on SuSE 8.0 and they work fine for me.
I used the latest CVS sources and then followed the instructions in the HOWTO.
If you use the latest CVS checkout you don't need to apply the patch etc.

It's bad manners not to let a non-root user see the modem_run options.
Fix by moving the option parsing before the root check.

I have produced a patch for modem_run which should auto-detect the modem

Subject: [speedtouch] Re: help needed with testing auto-detect Rev patch
John,
I don't think your patched version will work with a silver rev 4 modem
in kernel driver mode.
As per the thread involving myself and others last week, the v4 software
doesn't report status back after connecting
that the code relating to the first
read in the child process will be triggered whenever a read does
eventually occur, and that is probably not a good thing, so you should
probably also make that entire section of the child process conditional
on not v4

Yes the use of globals in pusb was a hack, but I couldn't see any way to get

For kernel mode and Rev 0400 I had implemented a timeout and loop, but had
