Just to clarify: I am in no way suggesting that you should ignore Jim's
(d6jg) recommendation of Material Skin. It is, in many ways, a superior
LMS interface. I still find the

Hi Robert,
My view is different in Spotty LMS (web or mobile interface) and I don't
see these options.
Here is my web view and we can see in NEW MUSIC both NAS library folders
and Spotty ones. I'd like to keep only the NAS ones in this folder.

Well, first things first - presumably you are using the Spotty plugin.
Do you also have the Online Music Library Integration plugin installed?

The Online Music Library Integration plugin allows two library views -
one of these shows local tracks only. That option might do what you
want.

Hi,
Is there a way, in the LMS NEW MUSIC folder, to only see as source my
NAS library?
At the moment it also shows new albums from Spotify...

Regarding New Music ... my recollection is that it is based on the "Last
Modified" timestamp on the individual files.

Hello,
Two short questions if I may:
i) When I add new albums/CD's to my music folder , for me they don't
always seem to appear under 'New Music' for some reason following a
rescan for new music. I can't find any specific setting that might
effect this. Even if I perform a full rescan

What am I looking for in the server.log? I don't see scan info in there;
not sure what I'm looking for in the scanner.log either. The logging
options drop-down for OMLI is set to "warn;" do you mean I should set it
to info or debug to see more about what is happening?
The latter. The OMLI

Spotty? I currently have this setting:

library and automatically check for changes"
That should be fine. If it doesn't work, then please check your
server.log.

Reactivating this thread. New LMS user here. I had been able to
successfully add albums to my library from Spotify and have them show up
in New Music on LMS, but now this isn't working. This is what I do:
Go to queue while song is playing
tap three dots, them select "more"
select "On Spotify:

Of course. The timestamp is from (now) three days ago and is amongst the
four newest on the server. But I found the problem: I already had an
ancient mp3 version of that album
'New Music' relies on the 'Modified' time stamps of the track files. Did
you check them already?

I ripped four albums the day before yesterday and copied them in my LMS
library. Yesterday, I wiped the LMS cache and triggered a scan. After it
was finished, I noticed that only three out of the four albums were
listed in "New Music". The "missing" album can be found via search or in

A freeware tool called "BulkFilechanger" is a very handy addition to a
taggers library of software
http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/bulk_file_changer.html
After you have done some tag editing you can use it to re-stamp your
files with say a 5 second increase on the original time stamp.

I recently changed the option in mp3tag so that the date stamp is not
changed when I update tags so that these albums did not show up in New
Music. However, you need to make sure that when backing up files you use
software that will detect changes in the tags and not just look for
changed date

seems to hoover up my mp3tag searches.
Generally most of my tagging is fine but I have issues with compilations
and having downloaded 7.9.0 (which I like)

Thanks all, that explains it perfectly well.
I'm using Perfect Tunes. A quick hunt suggests it has no option for
preserving date stamps.
I did have a look at mp3tag but couldn't get the hang of it. And
couldn't find the compilation tags which mattered to me more than most
other things!

Most tag editors like mp3tag has an option to preserve time stamps
otherwise the files change date is altered , it changes when you edit
the tags . Thats how its happens .
LMS new list is built solely from the timestms in the files , LMS has no
real log over when you actually got your files
I like my "New Music" list. It helps me avoid over looking/forgetting
about recent buys before I've gotten to know them.
But I've been tweaking tags recently and find that albums I ripped years
ago are treated as "New" even when all I did was correct the compilation
tag. This quickly drowns out
You don't say what LMS is running on - If it's a pi or something
similiar it could be a sign that the sd card is on it's way out.
I had exactly the same problem when I ran LMS on a pi.

Check your file dates, specifically the 'modification' or 'last updated'
date and time. If they're not later than everything else in the library,
then those albums won't bubble to the top of the New Music list. This
can sometimes be a problem with music files that you get through means

Is the music there if you search for it other than in New Music, such as

Hello,
My LMS has stopped populating the "New Music" section with recent
additions to the DB, always used to work.
I'm running 7.9.0 / r1488878280
Handy little feature so you don't forgot what you've added ;)
Any clues would be great, cheers.
