Nope, wrong advise. You should do what I asked you to do twice: check
your log files. They probably would have told you that the scanner
crashed during the creation of the fulltext index.
Reviving this just because after all of this time of not being able to
do simple searches, I found out completely by accident what is keeping
me from doing searches: the "Full text search" plugin. I disabled it
last night for a completely different issue and for the first time in

There is always the option to try it with a virtual machine running
linux - you can mount your network share in there and you could see if it
is the file server or the LMS installation on Windows.
If it works under Linux with network share mounted in Linux, you can
rerun the scan but with a
