Thanks for your reply, but as I wrote above - the problem is on the
client side. So I have to check there, which I have not done yet, since
I thought it is a server problem.

SB3 can only connect to the 2.4 G network, it cannot see 5.0 N networks.
Try temporarily connecting BOTH laptop and SB3 to only the 2.4 G WiFi.
Might even try disabling 5.0 N all together just to confirm both are
only on G WiFi. It sure sounds like your router is preventing or
isolating G

I can (and will) test with ethernet, but at the location it lives, it is
and will remain wifi.
It does not come back on its own - I need to restart LMS and it works

OK, but what does that mean to me? Should I change to the "stable" or
stay with the nightly's? (I have not ever experienced any problems with
the nightly's)
What you should do or not is up to you. Many have asked for a stable
release for a while now. The 7.9.0 development versions got updated

I had this problem (media scan terminated unexpectedly), and had a good
read of this thread.
I searched through recent additions to my music, and found a folder with
a .mov file as well as numerous .jpgs files (it was a download). I
deleted the .mov and all the extra .jpgs and then cleared the
Well disabling the windows firewall seems to have fixed the problem. So
I went into Network and Sharing Centre and found that media streaming
was turned off. I turned that on and all seems fine now. Not sure why
that affects the laptop on wifi and not ethernet but so be it.
Many thanks for your

Is this a different 7.9 than the one I've had installed for some time?
Please define "some time". There's a build number in Settings/Information.

It's the official release, that's good enough for me. It's the one
everyone should standardise on because it makes it easier for the team

I use the "new music" list for stuff like this. Just drop the new songs

appear at the top of the New Music list.
