All my old plugins (23) are already installed and even Erlands seem to
work with 8.0.1 (Custom Scan and Trackstat for example, Auto Dim Display
also) I think with most people who are upgrading to LMS 8 its the same.
New plugins will have the correct version number anyway. And manual

I'm running LMS 8.0.1 in a docker instance. Works great, but keep
telling me in the status bar that an update is there, eg today the
update-info mentions "2020-12-10 / Merge pull request #474..". The
docker image hasn't been updated.
Oh... crap: something has gone wrong on the build host - and
Good idea. It would need to control which plugins show up. Could the
7.9 ones appear in a separate list, below the 3rd party section, marked
as such with 'here be dragons'.
I like the suggestions so far :-). As I'm not a native English speaker
I'd be happy to get the final choice over in the

What you're running is not LMS, but the "UE Smart Radio Music Library"
(or whatever the name was...). Get LMS instead:

Hi Michael and community,
I'm running LMS 8.0.1 in a docker instance. Works great, but keep
telling me in the status bar that an update is there, eg today the
update-info mentions "2020-12-10 / Merge pull request #474..". The
docker image hasn't been updated.
I'm perfectly ok with not building
when I run the server at the terminal I get the following:
Apollo:server mkopel$
/Library/PreferencePanes/UEMusicLibrary.prefPane/Contents/server/slimserver.pl
Can't locate Slim/Control/LocalPlayers/Commands.pm in @INC (you may need
to install the Slim::Control::LocalPlayers::Commands module)
I have three Logitech Squeezebox Radio units. They are all linked to LMS
running on a Windows 7 computer and I am now currently running LMS
7.9.3. I am located in the UK.
I have had a number of stations defined in mysqueezebox.com and also as
favourites on the TuneIn website. These stations
Always the same, not properly copy/pasting the commands, not knowing
about anything wired like changed usernames, moved computer, accounts,
etc.
If you ask, nooo nothing has changed. Ran the script but it doesn't
work.
LoL
Hi all, so I feel a bit dim asking this question, but I have just never
done it before.
I've been using Squeezebox's for quite some time now, running LMS 7.7.2
on a Windows Home Server 2011 with very few problems. Now that LMS 8.0
is a stable version I feel it may be time to upgrade to help
I know, that's just an example for the screenshot. I did enable it and
clicked the Set NET Mount button below.

Nope, it didn't ask me anything. Also, I don't see that option. I only
see local mounts on my Pi.

Once the mount is working you then navigate into the subfolder via the
LMS web interface not the pCP one.
Just go into LMS/settings and it should ask for the music location.

Just wanted to mention a small issue I ran into migrating off of
ReadyNAS. Changing from ancient perl version changes the way URI::Encode
works, so restoring my trackstat backup was not fully accurate. See the

Perhaps the section heading warning could
Boom / Clasci do not support AAC native and so need transcoding using
faad.
It could be specific to BBC Sounds or it could be a general issues and
"faad" is not working on your NAS
Can you play an ordinary AAC radio stream such as
http://www.somafm.com/illstreet64.pls
I have LMS 8.0.0 running fine on new Synology DS220j (DSM 6.2.3), it
seems to do everything except play BBC Sounds radio on my Boom and
Receiver - works absolutely fine on Radio and Touch. I have installed
same LMS (with apparently identical Settings/Plugins, including
Advanced>File Types) on a
OK, I will try that. Thanks.

Since it is Windows it would be cifs not nfs.
Also I would take the space out of the share name just to remove another
possibility for problems.
You might need a vers=2.0 to mount an old version of Windows.
Press on the "more" link in the pCP page for extra info about where that
settings goes.

Hey guys, so I've installed pCP with LMS on my Raspberry Pi and I'm
trying to mount a network drive. My Windows 7 machine is always on, and
all my music is on it. I have 3 disk drives mapped as network drives,
and on one of them is my music. It's on disk A in a folder named Muzika.
So A:\Muzika.

Agreed.

(M Herger suggested I post this proposal in a separate thread. Here goes
...)
There is a parameter setting in the plugins stating the "max version"
such as "7.*" which LMS honors and refuse to install or even display in
the "3rd party plugins" list. However, they are retained when upgrading
LMS

As the plugin with 7.* are not presented to an LMS 8.* installation -
the non compliant plugins could be placed in a repository list separate
from "3rd Party Plugins" such as -
I think the decision to focus support and development efforts to version
8.x only is a sound one. But with regard to the issue of older plugins
not maintained and the "max version" parameter in these, can we not
simply delegate the decision to install these old plugins by means of a

I was assuming your comment in the 7.9.3 thread in September ("I've
created a 7.9.4 branch, which might see the random bug fix and nightly
builds. Don't expect much activity there.") still applied.
That was true back then, but no longer is :-)

The parser should either log an error if there is an error in the CUE
file or else tolerate an unsupported CUE file (maybe with a log warning)
and leave files playable.
The latest build should have a fix for this issue. It should discover
these non compliant cue files and skip them (which is
As I understand it LMS 7.9.4 is now just getting maintenance fixes.
Nope, there will be no more updates to 7.9.4.
My question is whether, in the long term, LMS 8 will be the only version
being maintained.
It already is.
The reason I'm asking is because some plugins have not been, and may

People here will needs logs to help diagnose this.

As just noted, BBC Sounds and BBCiPlayer are totally independent and
there is no interdependency.
As soon as possible, I'll update the BBCiPlayer & BBCiPlayerExtra
Hi all. I tried LMS and piCorePlayer for the first time yesterday. It
seems I timed it well, as I like to use docker to manage software like
LMS. Once I'd discovered the official image it all went fairly smoothly
(Google isn't giving the page on docker hub enough visibility yet).
The only
The 8.1 update does seem to run (have not tested playback yet, though).
Thanks a lot for all your help!
Could you please give the latest nightly yet another try? And play with
the startup options (starting LMS at boot time, or when signing in
etc.)? I've modified the startup items to
