No, I read them but really couldn't understand what they were doing. I
do check back as I have

I placed the newly created xml fie in the music library and ran a scan.
Here is what the results were.
Discovering
I'm also on 10.15.7 mac os and while my LMS sees all my music from the
new music app location it fails to find my playlists although they
appear in the Music application. I was running LMS 7.9 and tried to
follow the steps others have taken; I gave perl and bash full disk
access along with 5.18

Hi, I have a new iMac running OS 10.15.7 and the latest version of
iTunes. I opened LMS 7.9.3 and it was fine. Everything migrated
successfully but two days ago, after a reboot, all of my playlists
disappeared from LMS only. They appear in iTunes. I rescanned and it
says there are 196 playlists

That sucks but I lived with it for a couple of years. Never impacted the
player, just made it less elegant. A year ago another person changed
startup to after boot and that fixed his same issue. I alos updated to
the beta

ok I fixed it I think. I exported the library.xml file from iTunes,
pointed LMS to that and all the missing stuff appeared. I renamed the
one in the itunes lib and deleted the pointer to the exported one and
all seems to be ok. I will mess around with it and see if it's a perm
fix or not. Many

thanks for the suggestion. yes I checked and some files although shared
were read only. I changed them, rescanned but no change to the issue.
OK so in digging deeper I notice that some items are missing from
existing playlists as well. So for instance in iTunes a playlist titled
Pink Martini has x albums and 109 songs byt when I display that Playlist
in LMS it shows 95 songs and is missing an album I added to iTunes few
months ago.
