Yes...they behave normally everywhere except LMS...and even there they
play, they just won't go into the library. I'm used to the opposite,

old, no longer Windows "compatible" PC into some kind of LMS server.
Well - after doing some tests, my computer savvy son tells I can forget
about the PC. I it dead. It won't even boot from a Linux USB flash
drive.

atrocity, It might not be relevant but there are quite a few occasions
when I find an m4a (aac) file doesn't play in LMS.
I extract the AAC to a separate file (i.e. your starting position) and
then use MP4Box to create a new m4a file. I have never had any problem
with m4a files generated by
It's a vestige from an ill-fated time when LMS could serve video and
pictures as well as music. Don't unclick it or next time you scan your
library will be empty.

There's no USB3 on the Pi. And then it depends on your collection
whether transfer performance is even important. I have 20k tracks, the

I was copying the script to my own server and installed it via
repo/xml.
That way I was having troubles with your install.xml file. LMS kept
restarting.
I found install.xml to be the problem in my case. Missing fields I
guess.

Yes, certainly possible. Going to happen? Don't hold your breath... if
we wanted to support this, we might have to give up backwards
compatibility with older systems.

I have a Pi3 running piCorePlayer/LMS, with files on a QNAP NAS. The Pi
has a cable connection to the router, as does the NAS, and the whole
ensemble is tucked away upstairs. All my players connect via WiFi.
I would generally recommend connecting the Pi that's running LMS to the
network by
ls -l ~/Library/Logs/ | grep Squeezebox
Is that I or L?
it's a lower case l - just copy paste the command and you don't even
need to know ;-).
