Well tags like 'mood' or 'ranking by last.fm' etc. enhance my music
experience as they are excellent for making playlists. 'Lyrics'
I usually find mp3tag to be pretty fast, but then again I'm rarely
loading up more than a few albums at a time for editing. I was curious,
so I just loaded up my compete collection on mp3tag (about 96,000
tracks, FLAC, some mp3, some m4a). This took approximately 33 minutes.

you'll need some free RAM for Mp3, a fast NIC on both sides not some
10/100 and it helps to just import one fileformat @ the same time not
mp3, flac & ogg at once.
You might consider converting the .ogg files to a different format and
see if that helps with your problem.
You do use way more tag fields than I do. I believe in keeping things
simple but you must have your reasons for the number of fields you use.

Thanks,
I managed to sort most of my files. However, there is quite a number
that has not yet been eliminated from the compilation entry in the
menu.
It seems to me that LMS may not purge the compilations from its
registry?
Also I wonder if it has something to do with the file type and if

In mp3tag, right click on the column headings and choose "customize".
This will popup a list of columns you can tick. "compilations" might
already be there. If so, tick it. If not, click "NEW" then for name,
call it Compilation and

Alright so it's one of the tags I have never heard about up to now. How
do I make it display in MP3Tag or MusicBee? I can't go about every file

It is a standard tag: COMPILATION
(as noted above it is not mandatory. I use it for all my compilations
CDs and have no grouping issues in lms.

I use "Various" in the "Album Artist" tag, do not use the Compilation
tag. The "Album Title" is the same and I use the My Music settings in
this screen snip. My Compilation albums sort together just
fine.22625

How do you name the compilation albums ? I have several albums that have
the Artist tag as various and have no problem w them. I also have a
folder called Z-Oldies where I have numerous compilations. There the
"Artist" is Oldies, the Albums Oldies1,2 etc. In that case I have the
performers name
