Or you can also put NVDA on as well, NVDA should not be overlooked as its
becoming extremely popular and I want to assure you guys that NVDA will not
be going away anytime soon and I think System Access from Serotek is still

Hi:
Let me say that I'm typing this message in Outlook 2016 with WE 9.5.4 with
no significant problems.
However, I am using Windows 10 Insider Preview build 16232. WE is working
for some things, but, it always comes up with the four beeps, indicating
video driver issues. In the about box, WE
I still use Window Eyes on my system here at home. I do use Jaws when
visiting E Bay and Youtube, Jaws does work a bit better.
But at work, I use Jaws almost 100 per cent. I've been using it there
since Jaws was made available to Window Eyes users, I have yet to have
Jaws fail on me.
And I

I originally posted the instructions for changing the view of icons on the
desktop using control-shift-5 for list view and control-shift-6 for detailed
view. However, I recently received the Creator upgrade for Windows 10 and
find that these keyboard commands no longer work. Sigh.

Hi Amanda,
The offending file is named InfoBar.wav.
You'll find it in the Window-Eyes profiles folder.
I think you can delete it or at least rename it, say, to InfoBar.off and it
won't be found by Window-Eyes and so it won't play.
Hth,
Rod

Dear List:
Concerning window-eyes, When I am on the desktop to change the view of the
icons to list view with the shift-control-5 or the detail view with the
shift-control-6 it doesn't seem to do anything differently between the two.
I wonder if something has changed with one of the windows ten
That's what I'm saying. Everybody talks about what might happen with the
next windows update, blah blah! My thought is: get something to have on
hand, but use the window eyes first until it doesn't do something you need
it to do. Even then, you still may be able to use it for other things.
I did get the free jaws, but I'm still using WE instead of jaws

I really believe that in the near future that there will not be anymore Jaws
either. So many built in readers that ost nothing and work well are already
out there.

That clanging sound can be disabled in Windows sounds.
Press the Windows key and type “system sounds” in the search box. One of the

I actually got the Jaws 18 package, and have it installed on two windows 7

That being said, Window-eyes will still be my main screen reader for years

Norene, Window-Eyes put food on my wee, small table, worked virtually

You're not the only one. I still use window eyes. I haven't taken
advantage of the installation of jaws yet. I know I have to get on the ball
and at least install it. Otherwise I will lose the chance. Pam.

I do the same and I switch between Window-Eyes and JAWS for various reasons
as one will oftentimes work more effectively with one application versus
another.
I will use Window-Eyesfor as long as I possibly can and still regret it that
I didn't upgrade to the stand alone version in time. I'd
You're not alone on the list. In fact, when I get frustrated with the
JAWS verbiage I often go back to WindowEyes with a guilty sense of relief.

think it's still better than jaws even though it hasn't been developed in

ways, especially with its more open scripting possibilities, not than I'm
