Hi Tom,

This problem has been going on for I just don't know how long, but I had
about given up on ever solving the problem. I'm not sure if I'm totally
satisfied, but I've gone in there and turned off anything that

Hi Carol,
Well, now I'm stumped. I turned on several of the New page 1 and 2
options and all my messages are reading fine.
I also toggled view message body as original HTML, simple HTML, and
plain text. So perhaps my shrinking brain has deleted the lobe where
this was stored. For what it's
Hi Lou,
Just so you know what I am hearing, here it is straight from the email
you sent. Please note, in the email you sent, and all email, there is
no print version of a repeated line. Here is wha I hear:

Hi Carol,
Sorry. I can't think of anything else off hand. And I have no idea what
Dennis is talking about below. Care to enlighten us, Dennis? Did you
mean blank lines perhaps? I did have that off and turned it on. And it
did speak blank at the start of every message. But there was no

I think the word is supposed to be period. I did a double take when I heard
the word as well. I had to find it and arrow through it. The context of the
message helped me figure out what the misspelled word was.

Hi Tom,
I made sure everything was set to program and turned everything off
except for speak first 24 lines. I don't hear the number of things now,
but I do still hear the first line repeated in Thunderbird. I cleared
the settings for both of the new page categories. Do you have any more

I solved this a long time ago. Try going into the Window-Eyes control
panel, verbosity, browse mode, new page information 1 and 2, and turning
off everything other than read first 24 lines or entire page. Toggle all
the changes from global to program scope so you don't change them in

Yes, I must agree with the posting immediately below, except that my
complaints pertain to Outlook 2013. This is a Windows Seven Pro, 64 bit

Yes, my version reads the first complete line. If there is one or two
