Hi Dave,
You're right, you have to tag that one as deleted. Or search for it with
JOSM and delete it there. You don't have to do it in one session. While
editing with a text editor, it's probably best not to have the layer
present in JOSM.

In XML (the raw .osm format) you can also solve this.
Use JOSM to download both relations, save them as an .OSM file.
Open the file with a text editor and do some copy/pasting so only 1

Open the file in JOSM and upload. Use the comment to indicate what

That is indeed a hard nut to crack. It's also an edge case (fortunately not

To make the name tag more complete we could add the translation between

Hi Folks,
FOSDEM 2016 has come and gone, so now I'm looking beyond that in my
calendar. SOTM 2016 is on the horizon now and it worries me that there is
hardly any communication happening. No Requests for talks or anything,
radio silence basically... All we know is the when and where. We're in the

I think the mapping party yesterday was quite a success. Still it could

About that CRAB import. In The Netherlands they already created a tool to

The main problem with Commons (at least for the pictures I took while

If validation requires going into the field and cannot be performed the
armchair way, I'm not very confident it will be done. Unless we have some
sort of mobile way to do that validation.

Hallo Marc,
Kan je voor Mapillary foto's zorgen? Het beste zou natuurlijk zijn dat het
gemapt wordt door iemand met 'local knowledge'.

We've been nagging iD developers for months, if not years, about this now.
I thought it was resolved a few months back, but apparently not.
Why is it necessary to make it so complicated to draw a building that
doesn't get uploaded as area=yes in iD? Why not simply default to
building=yes or warn
those together. It's in the contourmerge plugin.

As long as we eat our own dog food, we should be able to locate these
problems, albeit not in a timely enough fashion.
If those new users get it wrong, help them like you would any other new
user. Keeping in mind they have: decent smartphones with GPS, heaps of time

Hi John,
When I first saw your message, I looked into Overpass API, but no luck. In
JOSM areasize would definitely work. You'll have to find a sweetspot around

probably not a problem, but it wouldn't hurt to have some backup.

Wow, for the faciliteitengemeenten I don't agree either! For Brussels I
don't really care that name has "fr - nl" order in a consistent way.
For faciliteitengemeenten it should be official language only in name and
name:fr, name:nl as fits.
