I had a problem accessing one of my Etrex devices. It transpired it didnt
like the cable I was using though the same cable worked fine with another
unit. I changed the cable and all was well again.

I get this problem too, seems to stick completely even over a day or two
until I clear the relevant cached data. Then it seems to be ok for me. As
you say, seems to be a bigger issue at higher zoom.

I'd place the coastline at the low water mark because you know then that its
always true. The coastline at the high water mark is only true a couple of
times a day or whatever. Then it needs a high_water_mark way adding and
ideally rendered in the long run.

I've added another OSM graph to the stats page. It shows the % contribution
of ways (current table, no account for history) per editor. It reveals that
95% of the way data is contributed by just 10% of the contributor base. In
fact 50% of way data has been contributed by just 31 user accounts altho

If object is no longer present we need some sort of "ghost" tagging, and the
ghost tag take precedent when rendering. This means that the data that was
present is still available, its useful data after all. Ideally there would
be a start_date and end_date tag also that defines

Any reason why we don't just put the bugs in osm. They could be nodes, ways
or polygons and just have a suitable bug=description key value pair plus any
other tags need (date opened/closed etc). I accept that the editors would
need to handle the data a little differently and their might be a need t
