By "sync", do you mean we can check our email on Outlook365 with TheBat!
again? That would be great. I now always have to check my university
email by webmail.

Yes. It would be helpful if I could have Outlook hosting connection to
sync with calendar, tasks and email all in one place.

I don't use the update feature in The Bat.

Instead, I have found if you go to the Rit Labs website and download the
update, that works.

I have noticed that Windows flags the msi file as a risk.  I have to force
acceptance of the file in order to run it for the update.

The Calendar did open for me.  There are no events.

I think the calendar feature should be removed.  TheBat does not connect to an
exchange server or to gmail exchange like functions.  Therefore, the calendar
cannot will not be current or have the right information.

Option, give The Bat exchange function so the Bat can take exchange information

Good perspective.

Bottom line, if one is using Exchange or Google, the Bat must be able to work
with a serve based information. IMAP is helpful, it does not go far enough in
today's fast paced environment.

If Exchange and google synch are not added to the program, then the calender
should be removed or allow users to turn it off.

I think a real development question for the RIT labs is the question about
exchange capability. Most email clients today synch with Exchange servers in a
seamless and effective manner. Personally, while IMAP is ok, I would prefer my
client to synch with exchange so that information on any device is accurate. I
dread looking at a calendar on one device only to find out its incorrect.

I realize some people don't want to be connected to a server all the time. I
would ask the team to give careful consideration to exchange server feature and
the ability to turn off calendar as a choice.

Finally, the bat does not have task features. The power of tasks, along with
calendar is the ability to synch across devices. Another possible
consideration to move to an allow the bat to connect to exchange for full
synchronization capability.

The calendar feature does not work the Exchange server. Therefore, the
calendar is not useful or reliable for meeting appointments.

Also, it is picking up Microsoft Teams appointments when it should not.

Overall, I just don't see the value of the calendar feature. It would be great

I am running 64-bit version of Windows with the require TPM chip.

Mailto etc does not work and the problem does not start when you install the
version that allows auto upates.

I have installed the version that does not do auto pupates and it works fine.

Thanks for the update.

I appears I need to pay for a new registration key. I'll do that in a few
minutes.

On another note.

The new version which allows for automatic updates DOES NOT WORK.

At no time through the beta testing could I get it work. I think more work has
be done testing on Windows 11 with teh security chip in place.

I look forward to future beta best opportunities. It is unfortunate I could
next this version in beta format.

After installation, I had to go in an delete the folder that was used for
Version 6. However the install program did not fix the registry key. The key
is point at the last folder with the The Bat exe in it.

Just ran a test.

Mailto function does note work
The registry key is pointing to the last beta version. - 10-0-0-6/64/

Just a concern.
Every beat tries to set up a new folder in appdata, does not adjust the
registry key and keeps putting the tblauncher.exe in the programs directory..

That is really not working and I feel like we are going around in circles on
this one.

Can something be done to address this registry key issue and make sure the
program is loaded in one directory.

My thanks in advance.

Thank you.

I did install V10 Beta 6.

It failed on the mapi and did not work well.

In a nutshell, the installer is not doing its job to create the right set up in
the registry. It appears Windows must see the program exe and not the launcher
exe.

I look forward to seeing Beta 7 with the items fixed.

Thanks,

Jerry

One consistent problem I find is the Tblauncher.exe file.

I am running Windows 11, 64 bit.

The current beta keeps putting this file in the program director and putting
thebat.exe some where deep in the c: user \appdata\ local \ thebat! ...

My other programs do not put their *.exe file so deep into appdata.

Is there a reason why TheBat has shifted to this new practice?

I followed the instructions on a test machine in my office.

1. Mapi does not work. mailto is set to tblauncher. Every time I use a mail
to option, it opens Outlook.
2. I had to dig down into a sub folder of \AppData\ to find the exe to make the
program work.

There is some wrong in the install program app. Installing a beta has never
been this difficult or challenge.

Trying to fix the registry also does not work.
> If I change the "Default" registry key at
> "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\The Bat! mailto\shell\open\command"
> To run TheBat.exe instead of TBLauncher MailTo works OK

Over all, I got this version installed. The proposed fixes to Mailto and mapi
do not work at all.

I look forward to a more stable beta.

Thank you.

Two observations.

I am able to get Beta 2 to work for email only.  Mapi does not function.

I had to find the *.exe file in order to launch the program.  The "launger
file" does not work.

Finally, Beta 1 did not uninstall the files.  I had to manual remove the files.

I hope Beta 3 will be here soon.

I just downloaded 9.4.5 MSI and it installed with no problem.

was turned off.  I've turned it back on I have spell checking.

The spell checker does not work correctly in the HMTL editor

First, it does not see the errors
> This is a wonderful day to be alive, fantatic.

Search for a word and select (fantastic) , correct spelling, this is what
happens

> fantastictatic.

Overall, without the spell check feature, the HTML feature is a challenge. I
swtich back to plain text for this message

I am using SSCE. I cannot get the Hunspell to work with the Bat.

Running Windows 10, 64 Bit with the Bat, 64 Bit.

Potential bug

If a wrong word is found in the test. The spell checker will underline the
word. If you right click on the word, select the correct spelling, the correct
work is put at the start of the sentence and does not replace the misspelled
word.

Running the Bat 64 bit.

I did run into one small problem.

The update did not uninstall 9.4.0. I had to manually delete it myself.

Otherwise, I am running on the new version.

This is a problem with The Bat. Tech support at the email server house was
unable to reproduce the problem with Thunderbird.

This only started with the last alpha and continues.

At this point, no matter what adjustments are made, the problem takes place. I
do not have the problem using imap on Exchange server or google.

I am working with a server company to see what they can do.
