I see there is a new images folder included in the archive.

I also see that you removed the fu-smilie (so I guess it is
legal again to write fu in e-mails). Well, I can still see the
smilies gun.ico, headshot.ico, knifed.ico. Will they appear in the
upcoming release?

IMHO you should only deliver some very common smilies of emoticons
that are widely used and can be recognised even without their
graphical representation.

A lot of the smilies (and abbreviations) seem to come directly from
some sort of IM slang ... but this is *e-mail*

The use of smilies is extremely customizable by editing pdsf.msl. So
please limit the smilies you deliver together with the release to
the absolute minumum and then let the counter-strike clans customize
and add their headshot, knifed and gun icons. I don't need that in
the office, hm, maybe the fu-smilie could be nice sometimes ;-)

The regexp evaluation is untouched and it works as fast as previously. I
think the main sources of problems in such filters with beta8 and beta9 are
the errors in referencing message during its export to the file. All filters
which export message to a text file and simultaneously move this message
to another folder generates bad contents of the file. The Bat! looses
the bounds with selected message during this move. See for example the
message of Marek Mikus (mid:[EMAIL PROTECTED]) - this
is the same category of errors!

Beta/9 Performance Issue

2003-06-07 Thread Bill McCarthy
Hello TB Beta List,

In Add_Reference Now Works posted to the TB Tech List, I presented a
fairly robust solution to rethread messages. It works with both
In-Reply-To and References block. There can be none, only one block,
both blocks and they can be anywhere in the message, contiguous or not
and in any order.

I tested it with every possibility I could think of (21 test
messages).

I ran into two problems with Beta/9. The first is it didn't work for
any of the 21 tests. Changing the ending `\n\n\z` to `\n\z` had it
working fine in Beta/9 - something changed in Beta/9 wrt, I think,
space at the end of %Header.

The second problem is that, although the macro response quickly in 19
of the tests, 2 were quite slow (around 5 seconds on an 800 Mhz P3).
Those 2 cases never happen (a In-Reply-To block without a References
block and appearing at the start of the header, and a References block
without a In-Reply-To block also appearing at the start of the
header).

I retested on 1.62r and didn't see any performance problems for those
two cases. There appears to be some regex evaluation slowdown in the
Beta.

Z It works good with Beta 8 and Beta 9.

Here, it _does_ keep the Re: in the subject line but in the instance where

Check out the one I posted to this tread. To stop removing all [...]

If, instead, you want to only delete `[foo]` and `[bar]` from the

I've read that some say Clean Subject macros are working. Others say
they're not.

Here's a simply demo. Create a AB reply macro on your own address. I
created a one liner: %Subject=Reply: %OSubject

I then replied to a message to myself with subject: Ref Test

The reply had a subject of: Reply: Ref Test

That worked!

Now change the reply template to: %Subject=Re: %OSubject

The reply now has a subject of: Test

Not only did it leave of the 'Re:', it also chopped off the original
subject's first word.

	 W32/Nimda@MM

	Dear Manfred:

McAfee.com has seen a large and growing number of systems
infected with the W32/Nimda@MM. This is a HIGH RISK virus
that is spread via email. W32/Nimda@MM also spreads via open
shares, the Microsoft Web Folder Transversal vulnerability
(also used by W32/CodeBlue), and a Microsoft content-type
spoofing vulnerability.

The email attachment name VARIES and may use the icon for an
Internet Explorer HTML document.

It will also attempt to spread itself as follows:

The email messages created by the worm include content
that allows the worm to execute the attachment even if
the user does not open it.
It modifies HTML documents, so that when this infected
window is accessed (locally or remotely), the machine
viewing the page is then infected.

Once infected, your system is used to seek out others to infect over the Web.

AVERT is currently analyzing this threat and will post more details online shortly.

Click Here for detection and removal instructions for W32/Nimda@MM virus.

			Retail VirusScan Users:
Version 4.0.70 and above with DAT file 4157 will detect and

Downgradable? was: 1.54 Beta/9

2001-09-19 Thread Markus Gloede

Hi,

what's the current status of downgrade problems from a beta to a
non-beta? Does this still result in setting losses? I would like test
beta 9 without losing something should I need to go back to 1.53.

Regards,

Markus

PH GREAT!

What does that mean? What default value? Can anybody explain it to me
please?

PH Please don't forget to add the new %AB macros to the selection boxes
PH that are available when editing quick templates.

Don't you think adding all possible %AB macros to the selection boxes
would blow your screen? ...Maybe I should switch to 1600x1200 right
now to get used to it ;-)

PH TB is getting better and better ...

ROTFLMAO I was waiting for this. I sat here by my computer after I
saw Stef's mailer and his announcement about a bugfix in the next
beta, and chewing my nails I was waiting for who will be the first one
to ask the above question. Congrats, you won!

The answer is: the beta will be available as soon as Stef announces it
on this list. Hopefull, it will be announced after he has uploaded it,
not when he has started uploading it, but hey, it can't be long from
now, can it? :-)

shrug If I have 5 messages to reply to and hit the reply

in exactly the same spot. However, if I reply to one, send it, then
hit reply for another message, the reply editor window doesn't open in

last one was opened. I'm not using any explorer enhancing software

The Bat! - bug report // group-handle list doesn't work correctly anymore in beta/9

2000-03-30 Thread Roel

Hello The Bat! developers,

  I'm using The Bat! Version 1.42 Beta/9
  Serial Number UNREG / CD5BF9353B3B7091
  under Windows 98 4.10 Build A
and would like to report a bug

  The bug description:

when i send out a message to any group (addresses have always worked
with 141 and have not been altered since), i get a failure notice
for *everyone in that group!

addresses sent to: (via grouphandle list)
[EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED]

errors returned:
Û÷RÁ@hercules.telenet-ops.be 'no valid adress...'

  Steps to reproduce the bug:

send a message using the group-handle...

if you send a message inserting each address seperate, it'll work
fine... my guess: the list isn't translated correctly anymore...

can anyone confirm?

Regards,
  Roel
