Thanks, Mike. But I don't find any subfolder for my Inbox.

 1. Press ESC key in the folder you have the problem for refresh it.
 2. Do a maintenance check of that folder.
 3. Close TB! and Delete  the  TBI file with the name of the folder (it's the
 index
file, it will be created another time when you open TB!)

Good suggestion, NV. It might have solved the problem for some persons.

Actually I had already done everything you mention except deleting the
TB! file... which I'm not sure I would find... or find easily... in my
OTFE version. In OTFE, I think we have mysteriously named EBNs or
something like that.

Fortunately, I managed to solve the problem - quite unexpectedly - by:

1. Right-clicking the Inbox
2. Clicking New and then Folder
3. Clicking Cancel in the Create A New Folder dialogue box

Hi Jay,

I'm also using OTFE with iKey. You could delete the EBN files (they're
the same as TBI but encrypted) without any problem. TB! recreates the
EBN/TBI files when starting or closing TB!.

You won't lose any mail when you deletes the index files. You will
only have to wait a bit of time during the recreation of the index
file. If the folder has a lot of messages you will wait more time than
in a little folder.

Congratulations for your fixed folder ;-)

JW in my inbox, then the total appears as 0(1). 1 what? My Inbox has no
JW subfolders that I am aware of.

The number in parens is the number of unread messages in sub folders.
So it sounds like you have a folder in your Inbox Folder and there is
one unread message in that sub folder.

Ian, thank for your help. This much I understand. (1) The number in
parentheses is related to subfolders. (2) Bold indicates unread
messages.

In this case, the (1) is not bold. But I have no idea where the
subfolder is. It does not appear in my folder tree.

Now you say that you have no sub-folders so you need to make
absolutely sure that nothing is hidden, virtual folders, etc.

Well, I have only two virtual folders: Recent and Flagged. Neither of
those has exactly 1 message in it.

What would the etc. be?

Problem solved... mysteriously.

I right-clicked the Inbox and clicked New and then Folder. I clicked
Cancel in the Create A New Folder dialogue box. And lo and behold the
(1) simply disappeared from the Total column for my Inbox. I guess
that was part of Ian's etc. :)
