I would certainly like to see that facility too.

I'm sure that, in previous versions of TB! pre 3, the little arrow on
the envelope telling you that you had replied to a message was actually
on the parent message of the thread so that you could tell that way but
it doesn't happen now.

More than six accounts: check fails over six

2004-10-14 Thread admin
Having got v3.0.1.33 and running POPFile I find the same problem over
checking more than six email accounts occurs.

I.e: TB log reports 'could not connect to mail server' for any more
than six accounts being checked at the same time.

Can anyone offer a way round this? I have to check all accounts
individually to be sure all have been checked.

Dual monitor problem with adjusting headers

2004-10-14 Thread admin
Adjusting headers using drag on the borders between headers when TB window
is on the secondary monitor, when the secondary monitor is physically
situated to the left of the primary monitor causes the column to
collapse to zero.

Then go to View Modes to reset it and the new value of zero has been
reset in the saved View Mode. So I have to increase the valuie for the
collpased header, then 'Select all' again in 'Use by' and then OK,
then OK.

This has got to be a relatively easy thing to fix after all it's just
a mathematics thing isn't it?

You have to register to report errors.

You could also join TBBETA and report about your error there.

At the moment, I do not have a dual monitor setup, so I cannot verify

Hæ!

It did not work as intended. *grrr*

I used the %account-macro. So far, this worked. But I am using a
mailalias of this account, which obviously gets overwritten by the
account data and my mail bounced back.

I have used this as a QT:

%From=
%From=Thorvald Neumann thn_inbox(at)gmx.net
%ReplyTo=
%ReplyTo=Thorvald Neumann thn_inbox(at)gmx.net
%Account=alghorab(at)gmx.net

If you use a mailalias, it must be:

%Account=alghorab(at)gmx.net
%From=
%From=Thorvald Neumann thn_inbox(at)gmx.net
%ReplyTo=
%ReplyTo=Thorvald Neumann thn_inbox(at)gmx.net

In a previous discussion MAU had created a filter that would do this,
to a degree. It also only works depending on your e-mail address.

Have filter use color group for:
Sender is [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Recipient is [EMAIL PROTECTED]
References contain @xyz

Now the catch. This only really works well if you have a rare e-mail
address for the group you are dealing with. For example, in this group
I know of only one other @mts.net person who may participate here so
this filter works well for me. I think that your @gmx.net is too
common here to make use of it.

I don't know if it is possible to add this to the Sorting/Office, but
I would support such a request if sent to BugTrack.

Can anyone offer a way round this? I have to check all accounts
individually to be sure all have been checked.

I have the same problem with 4 accounts. The main account checks fine
and as I was watching the other accounts, they timed out.

I view the accounts on the connection manager.

This is with Popfile also. There is no activity at all on the other
accounts until the first one finishes.

I guess you could change the Timeout time for the other accounts so
they don't time out before checking. Not for sure but will give it a
try and see what happens.

Or you could set up to check the main account upon Startup. Then check
the other accounts later on, sorta stager them.

Will try out both and see what is the best way to go.

convinced it is specific to my system. I'll monitor this to see if I can
work out why the CC is hanging. Sometimes it appears to stick with the
standard message that says something like Importing mail and the
progress bar stays at 100%.

Sometimes checking mail again results in the CC closing properly, other
times it stays open. There is certainly a wide variation of results that I
see here all relating to the CC not closing as it should.

First I had to uninstall 3.0 and reinstall to get 3.0 to remove a

Interesting. The Abort button didn't work?

And now it has been necessary to pitch my message database files to

For IMAP, you need only delete the local cache files for each folder.
The delete cache button is in each folders properties.

I agree with you on the RIT responsiveness. TB! is by far the most
improved initially POP3 specialist client, that now also does IMAP.

You need to create the lists yourself.

First go to Options/Preferences/Anti-spam, click on
BayesIt! and click Configure.

Under Options, put your Working directory someplace
different from your BayesIt! program directory - I
place mine under Mail as in:

c:\data\TheBat\Mail\bayesit

Now click OK and choose Rules to create your white and
black lists. For example, I specify my moderated lists
(such as TB! lists) in my whitelist. I only have a
few entries in my blacklist for things I'm sure are
always spam. I don't use ignorelist.

The white list of kludges is copied, by the program,
to this same directory. I've left that alone.

Sub Filters - How to use

If you have not found them yet in the NFS, select a filter and press

Any way yet of doing this at all?

Yep.

You can use them to keep the sorting office tidier. Since thats the only
thing I do with subfilters so far I describe it. :-)

I'm using one parent filter for mailinglists. It checks whether I'm the
recipient, or not (header field TO does not contain @neurowerx.de in my
case, just the checking, no further actions).

If I'm not, its a list message (since the TO header field the list address,
[EMAIL PROTECTED] for this list). Inside this parent filter are
sub-filters for the individual lists I'm subscribed to (sorting them into
their directories).

Re: Sub Filters - How to use

2004-10-14 Thread MAU
Hello Gerard,

Has any one used sub filters yet.
I can not figure how to use them and could do with a few pointers.

Here is a simple example I use for TB lists. The structure is:

The Bat
   TBUDL
   TBBeta
   TBTech

And these are the corresponding filters:

 TB! Message Filter
beginFilter
UID: [EABE5B6A.01C48E14.7EA9333D.41A9F835]
Name: The\20Bat
Filter: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
IsActive
endFilter

 TB! Message Filter
beginFilter
UID: [3FF052A0.01C48D53.4E9CD9A0.3E4F4425]
Name: TBUDL
Filter: {\0D\0A\20`7`Reply-to`0`tbudl\0D\0A}
MoveMessage folder \5C\5CMAU\5CMailing\20Lists\5CThe\20Bat\5CTBUDL
IsActive
IsSendQueue
endFilter

 TB! Message Filter
beginFilter
UID: [3FF052A0.01C48D53.63DBAABB.6D3345AB]
Name: TBBeta
Filter: {\0D\0A\20`7`Reply-to`0`tbbeta\0D\0A}
MoveMessage folder \5C\5CMAU\5CMailing\20Lists\5CThe\20Bat\5CTBBeta
IsActive
IsSendQueue
endFilter

 TB! Message Filter
beginFilter
UID: [3FF052A0.01C48D53.23514E5E.07F783DB]
Name: TBTech
Filter: {\0D\0A\20`7`Reply-to`0`tbtech\0D\0A}
MoveMessage folder \5C\5CMAU\5CMailing\20Lists\5CThe\20Bat\5CTBTech
IsActive
IsSendQueue
endFilter

The idea is that if a message is not coming from @thebat.dutaint.com
it can't be from any of the lists. Hope this helps.

Not exactly what your want because it doesn't alter the icon in any way
but you may want to try this:

Go to Options/Preferences/Colour Groups and Font and define a new group
with name Top Level and with your colour of choice for font and
background.

Now, go to one of your top level folders in your folder tree, right
click on it and select Colour Group/Top Level.

Allie,

It's not old. I've never had problems upgrading by installing on top
of another. This is since 1999 and while installing all new releases
 and many betas.

Guess my computer is especially cranky. Windows Xp with sp2. I keep
up to date with whatever fixes MS has available.

First I had to uninstall 3.0 and reinstall to get 3.0 to remove a
long list of tasks in the Connection Center that couldn't complete
 and couldn't go away.

Interesting. The Abort button didn't work?

The abort functions would remove the tasks from the display. As soon
as TB went to access the server again for some reason they would be
right back. Power off reboot, same thing.

And now it has been necessary to pitch my message database files to
bring The Bat to full functionality. But here we are. Thanks.

For IMAP, you need only delete the local cache files for each folder.
The delete cache button is in each folders properties.

Ok, that makes it easier. Earlier respondent suggested deleting the
database files.

The problem is on the http://www.ritlabs.com/en/products/thebat/ page.
When you click on Download it brings up the following URL:

http://www.ritlabs.com/bitrix/redirect.php?event1=from_homeevent2=downloadevent3=engoto=/en/products/thebat/download.php

which is bad. The correct URL is
http://www.ritlabs.com/en/products/thebat/download.php which brings up
the correct page for download.

Not a good thing to do on a release day. Just thought I'd let you
know.
