I couldn't get Thunderbird to talk at all. It won't accept the pw for some reason, and I've kind of given up on it. Not only do I not like it, but I don't understand it and I don't have the time to mess with it :-/ The things that cause problems for me are accounts with lots of folders or lots of accounts to check at the same time, particularly when there are messages waiting in several of them. One large email can hold up everything else and I wonder whether the connections timeout and hang. Yes, this could be. There are several accounts - but all but the one with the problem are POP accounts, and all are working fine as of this writing. Most have lots of folders, including this IMAP account. But .. the only one with problems is the IMAP account :-/ You could play around with some of the settings in Properties|Mail Management|IMAP Fine Tune at account level and see whether that makes a difference. Well, so far that hasn't accomplished anything. I have managed to move all the messages to the trash folder, (the delete key worked where the delete button on the interface did not) where for some reason I can read them. I can't move any to any other folder, however, and none of the filters work on that account. There is a new version of IMAP for The Bat in the works, and hopefully this will address some of the current issues. I hope so. In the meantime, has anyone ever managed to fix a filter problem like this one? There are filters specific to this account, as well as a common filter which combs about 3 of them, the other accounts being POP accounts. Will be glad to provide any other info you like, if you think it will help. tia - -- Lynn :Hawthorne: :usflag: :canadaflag: theli...@comcast.net * * *Aun Aprendo I'd rather be WARP'ed* * * Team OS/2 Windows 6, Build 7600 4.2.36.4 Current version is 4.2.23 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

There have been lots who complain that Bat IMAP is unworkable, but I continue to find it superior over all to anything else. I only have one account, which has 62 folders, and nearly 54,000 messages. It collects all my POP accounts, and all my gmail gets forwarded there. I haven't looked directly at gmail for months, nor any of my POP accounts unless there is some reason to send a message using one of those addresses. I also use thunderbird occasionally for testing, and on a regular basis to compact all my folders, since theBat doesn't manage that well. Looking forward to beta testing the new IMAP, expecting to set up additional IMAP accounts for that, and changing habits on my POP accounts. -- Dwight A. (Right click on the folder and select the top item in the menu). I sometimes get this problem on my laptop, usually on a slow connection, when it takes a very long time for message bodies to appear. Sometimes restarting TB works, but at other times I just have to wait - the connection centre shows the downloads in the queue but nothing happens. In some cases I end up using webmail. Eventually the messages appear in TB. -- Julian Using The Bat! v4.2.23 on Windows 7 6.1 Build 7600 Current version is 4.2.23 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

It appears to do nothing, but the CC does show a list of messages it is pretending to load and to filter - the filters aren't working either :-/ What are the folder synchronisation settings?
