Your cut mark in the message to which I am replying worked.

If there is more than one cut mark in a message, only the last one
works. And if a cut mark is quoted from a previous message, the quote
prefix means it is no longer a valid cut mark as the two dashes and
single space are not the only characters on the line.

Received with the delimiter intact. But for some reason it hasn't

I thought about looking for clues in the message source but was

The space is gone when it reaches a list, and the DM that Thomas sent
me was also missing the space, which does suggest that GMX is removing
the space in transit. This will also cause problems with message
signing.

I don't use GMX, but looking through other messages on the list,
messages from Chris Wilson and Feli Wilke also appear to come via GMX

It appears from my message thread in TB (v8.8) that Thomas' cut mark
is missing the space (I've copied it into a text editor to
double-check) and Jack's is correct.

Jack's messages are therefore quoting correctly, and Thomas' aren't.

As you can see above, your entire sig is present in this reply. However, if I
place the cursor at the beginning of the dash-dash-space in your email above and
press END on my keyboard, the cursor goes only to the end of the last dash. If
there was a space there I would think the cursor would have stopped one space
beyond the last dash.

When I reply to the email I sent you on 1 Sep 2019, none of my original sig on
that email appears in the reply. Exactly the opposite of what you're
experiencing.
