Probably your drive is formated as a FAT32 or FAT16 partition. It isn't good to this kind of application, with many small files, because these file systems have minimum file size. So, if a you have a 50Bytes file it uses 4kB ! If possible, try NTFS (if windows) or ext3. Do you have the same
