said, I didn't follow the details of this thread) has to do with
what's running on the remote machine running Tomcat. For example, if
it's only got an ajp12 connector on port 8007, then looking for an
ajp13 connector on port 8009 isn't going to work (and vice-versa).

8080 -- this is all covered in the server.xml file that comes with the
distribution). However, I'd strongly suspect (and I think it's been
brought up here before) that Tomcat's SSL performance isn't as good as
Apache's.

encrypting communication between Apache and
Tomcat, that was discussed recently here (you should check the
archives), and it didn't seem like there was a way to do that.

set up the cookie (BTW, max age of 0 should delete
it), you need to add the cookie to the response. Changing the cookie
in the request alone and/or not adding it to the response won't do
anything.

to be broken (it's not listed
on their front page -- I already emailed them about this -- no
response). So I'd choose soap-user, then change soap to tomcat in
the URL, and that gets me to the tomcat-user archive. Here's the
resulting URL:
