I don't know any OSX specific but on Linux and Windows the following
command works - try it in a Terminal window.
*netstat -s*
The counter are always incrementing so you need to take two or more
readings and compare them to see what counters change.

should post a message on an Apple support forum as OSX users may have a

From the pictures I wonder whether they even removed the protective foil

I saw the foil too but the photos looks very like the Logitech photos
from the manual so perhaps they are Logitech supplied press photos.

Try
Settings / Advanced / Factory Test / Touchscreen.
This starts a series of tests involving touching part of screen and
dragging to another designated point.
If you cannot complete the test contact Support.

When I tried this recently on Touch I got USB problems which were new

There is no Turn off player on Radio or Touch but it is there on
Controller.
I think Turn off was on Touch at some stage in the beta because I
came across this issue - however it looks like it has been omitted.

Possible disadvantages: it is a 2.1 setup but the speakers are small

Why is there such a resistance to a simple on/off rocker on the back of
the Squeezebox units? Everything else in the world has one.
Radio has an on/off button which can do true power off - Touch could
have had one - perhaps there were design/cost issues.

After that there is the question of performance - is there enough CPU

I have tested Touch with an old iRiver h320 which works as a player and
a hard drive. The H320 is also unusual in that it can act as USB host
and USB peripheral. It worked as well as expected given Touch s/w.
Your problem is finding a suitable player.
