I found (part of) the problem, at the least the one concerning R.E.M.
thumbnails. The problem seems to be the... dots! I've modified "artist" tags in
the MP3 files, cleaning-up "dots" in the "R.E.M." artist name. Without them,
fetching 7digital works! It recognize "REM", but not "R.E.M."

I have the exact same bug on up to date 16.04 beta (cannot connect to
a2dp sink but hsp working), but i didn't have the bug before with
15.10...
If it can help, here is the message showing in syslog when autoconnecting to
the bluetooth speaker:

Move from consolekit to logind
This problem has been just resolved in Sailfish OS. When looking for a
solution of a microphone problems with mako, I stumbled on this
bugreport and would like to contribute back. I hope that the same
solution would work for Ubuntu.
In Sailfish, the wrong microphone was loaded during the phonecall
