I could never get linterna magica to work, and the video streaming sites that
gnash supports is basically limited to youtube.
Now I can watch youtube, dailymotion etc in HD without flash!

Perhaps it is. :-) I haven't tried tried LibreJS because I'm used to having

lot of change in the background so you may see more breakage than anything

Changing Debian's repositories for Trisquel's is a good recipe for problems!
If you are using Debian Stable, the versions of the system libraries are
older than those of Trisquel. If you use Debian Testing/Unstable, it is the

My guess is that it'll require non-free firmware for wi-fi/bluetooth (if
present), and non-free drivers for the GPU.

If there is no subtitle then youtube-dl moans and does not download the
video.
The youtube-dl updater has replaced itself with a HTML page (most likely 404)
instead of another youtube-dl program.
Probably the best way to solve it would be to delete that youtube-dl binary
and redownload from the youtube-dl website, manually.
This is what I've done to solve the problem. I was just being curious about
the fact that most people had actually did this (with the original Trisquel
package version ?).

This depends on what definition you use for free software. If you use the
GNU definition Debian is not 100% free by default. They accept the artistic
license 1.0 as free while the GNU project does not. Just to make sure people
are aware of that.
