Of course - I don't use Facebook and I encourage others to give it up as well. But with JavaScript it's quite easy for any website to misuse JS. For any website which people reveal themselves on, that's potentially problematic.

IMHO everybody here need to search one web hosting company with free software values. Like Gandi, all2all, Positive Internet and others. Linode, OVH, Godaddy are company without this. They recommend many non-free softwares and them uses free software only for technical reasons.

My guess is that it'll require non-free firmware for wi-fi/bluetooth (if present), and non-free drivers for the GPU. So, it might work, but there will be a lot of functionality missing. Again, just a guess.

The youtube-dl updater has replaced itself with a HTML page (most likely 404) instead of another youtube-dl program. Probably the best way to solve it would be to delete that youtube-dl binary and redownload from the youtube-dl website, manually.

This depends on what definition you use for free software. If you use the GNU definition Debian is not 100% free by default. They accept the artistic license 1.0 as free while the GNU project does not. Just to make sure people are aware of that.
