No, any of the bash files are the default ones. The i3 config is also the default (I didn't have the opportunity to copy my personal config yet). It's basically a fresh install (with the drive erased) with xorg, i3 and pcmanfm installed. I added a personal .xinitrc just to see if it would

sudo startx worked. It's not recommended, so it's not a solution.

I'm even more sure that i3/the X session didn't freeze as the time display progresses. This time I enabled the numpad, and what's odd is that he led stays on even if I unplug, then replug the keyboard. I tried to switch to a tty, or even kill the X session, but neither the mouse or

Encryption shouldn't be an issue after unlocking the disks/partition. I don't understand. The install went just the same way beyond the partitioning. It must be something related to xorg. It kinda makes sense for the USB keyboard not available until reaching the shell though.

Hi, the keyboard and mouse respond very well in the shell (well not the mouse of course), but after startx, which boots i3wm, it doesn't. At first I thought i3wm was freezing, but the mouse pointer changed from the waiting icon to the normal pointer after a bit (yet still immovable). And

It seems more complex than I thought. The config makes it even less likely to be used by friends/family. And you're right again, I didn't think about the hardware. One more downside. My perspective is always the random normal user who's privacy conscious. To me it would be the rare case of

I see, so for personal machines (including a Replicant phone, though there's no guarantee the private key can't be accessed from the modem), problem solved. So Thunderbird + Enigmail on Tails would need some config on each boot? Too bad, as if it wasn't annoying enough to reboot from a

I recently have regular Wi-Fi disconnections. Turns out removing the X200 laptop from it's base helped, and probably getting closer to the source helped just as much. I'll have to test again soon, but it never happened before.

Another problem of a personal mail server is that the most common webmails might reject it as spam. For other uses than email, a personal server is still a great idea. Ah, right, the title isn't encrypted, I forgot. Regarding privacy, security and reliability, encryption seems to still be

The simplest way would be this: https://meet.jit.si/ provided it's not too crowded, and provided it fully works. Else Jitsi works better if you can get past the glitchy install (don't install from the repo, it's outdated, and get a good xmpp provider. A search on the forum might give you

Interesting. So the most common mail providers might not allow encrypted emails to pass? To make sure we're talking about the same method, I'm talking about using something like Thunderbird instead of the Webmail. - A few more remarks: * Both persons need to
