too. Maybe those are doing something

- perhaps ulimit is set to 1 GB or some other size limiting factor

does NOT convert the file to 32-bit addressing, BUT changes the
MINIMUM.MODULUS to 32!
Moral - use the DYNAMIC keyword instead of 30...

How do you know the file is damaged? Are you getting an error message,
and if so, what is it? There are quite a few different ways that files
can be damaged, most of which result from hardware events occurring
while the file is being written to.

backup the existing file before the RESIZE
and that no users can have the file open while RESIZEing.
I'd also check system logs, etc. to see if halts, disk errors or other
problems have been occurring that might relate to the problem.

My first guesses would be that either the file is corrupt or that it was
being resized and the resize was aborted. I'd suggest running uvfixfile
against the file (or FAST if you are using it.)

I'm not running transaction logging but have a few clients who are. What
procedures do you follow when resizing files that are enabled for
transaction logging? Is RESIZE smart enough to turn logging off and back on
or is this a manual procedure? Any tips?

The group with the bad blink will likely be the same group. I'd recommend
using TERM 80,32767 before the LIST to reduce pagination of the listed
record keys.

Hardest part is making good guesses for modulo and type. I think the text
you quoted is saying that you can't use RESIZE to change the SPLIT.LOAD,
