Bob:
Just wanted to make sure that if you are experiencing the problem we resolved
(noted below), you will have to upgrade to a UV version that is 10.1.15 or
later to get the fix.

The last 10.0.x patch was released in November 2003.
Current UV version for AIX is 11.1.0 - Oct 2010
Latest 10.3 patch for AIX was 10.3.9 - Nov 2010
Both were ported on AIX 5.3 - so you are good with your OS release.

Hi, Kevin.
I don't find any support cases opened by you recently.
Can you provide a support case number so I can review your interaction with our
team and the technical bits, as well.
thanks

How long of a data string to you want to index?
This mostly has a bearing on the block-size of the index file (the key length

UniData provides file encryption technology (also known as Automatic Data
Encryption (ADE).
Barak - you want to clarify your question - noting the 3rd party filesystem
level encryption package you are trying to implement - which is external to
UniData. Vormetric?

So: either upgrade to 7.2.5 or don't use CONFIGURE.FILE to change
MINIMUM.MODULO setting to a number smaller than the original modulo - on a file
that has the potential for merging.

I don't know if FAST uses CONFIGURE.FILE - perhaps Jeff Fitzgerald will chime
in.
Upgrading to 7.2.5 from 7.2.2 would be recommended for record lock performance,
as well.
