John,
If Design Bais is riding on the back of SB+ field definitions then you
may be able to use D/I types. SB+ can be set to create and maintain D
& I types by setting DMCONT SB.CONTROL<34,1> = 1 ([EMAIL PROTECTED]<34,1>).
At last look there was a bug in the UV version of SB.FD
System Builder (that is, SB+) will not let you modify a dictionary
with it's Field Definition tool if it wasn't created in SB+ or
converted into that format.

Tom,
Maybe this is what you are looking for. @TTY will equal a lower case
'phantom' for phantom jobs. We use this to keep phantoms from going
through our login program. All of the output from the commands in a
phantom can be found in the &PH& file with the program name with date

There are many robust backup programs that can be used in various O/S
environments.
You should only backup the system when there is no activity on the system.
Otherwise
you will not get a clean backup.

There is not a UniData backup utility like UniVerse does. Every site that I
have been involved with uses o/s level backups.
There is a need to quiesce the database before breaking the mirror for
backups. dbpause will force all writes to disk and will inhibit writes to
