I use the ARC panels also but replace the ball joint style mount with
their HD L-bracket mount. About $20 if I recall.

of panel MIMO antennas and used Rocket M5 radios on it. I want to say it
was an ARC wireless antenna, but I bought it from a distributor and cant
find what I did (bad record keeping). Anyways they worked out well with
awesome signal, but the adjustment was via a ball joint that was fairly
unstable. I had a rocket M5 fail on one these panels yesterday in this
shitty weather and the panel was flopping in the wind. It was too windy or
intolerable to try to pull off any part numbers but I don’t want to order
 another one of these again.

Anyways if anyone has used a MIMO panel on a Rocket that has been good and
are happy with it I would like to know

[Ubnt_users] AirFiber 11FX - No Wireless Connection

2017-07-07 Thread Joey Craig
Before I contact UBNT support, I thought I would try here first. I have had
t our tower climbers here twice to install and aim these. Very frustrated.
Maybe someone else has had this issue.

Had a Nera 11GHz radio struck by lightning last December and replacement
parts were no longer available. The head of the company decided to try the
New AF11FX link.

For some reason, we are not able to get them to connect to each other when
on the towers, but I did have them wireless connected and passing the
maximum throughput on the bench without any issues.

We have a good tower crew so I do believe them that they tried everything.
Myself and another tech from the company were on each end at the time and
did not see any change in rssi during the aiming process.

We do have a backup link using the AF5X radios with the 34dB/4ft antennas
which are mounted 10 ft under the 11GHz link at each end so we do have a
reputable point of reference to aim the new dishes.

I just logged into each end and used the Airview program on the AF11FX
radios and I am not showing any frequency usage at all and the noise level
at each end is running at -92 as seen in the dashboard and corresponding
with the Airview.

We are using the high-band radios with the Jirous-1200-10/11 antennas and
the adapter radio mounting plates. I have verified the duplexers are the
opposite on each end as the instructions specify. (radio #1 2/4-4/2 and
radios #2 4/2-2/4). The TX and RX frequencies are opposite on both ends of
the link.

I have the cfg and sup files from both radios if anyone would care to look
at them.

It just appears that neither of the radios are transmitting once mounted on
the towers.

Re: [Ubnt_users] AirFiber 11FX - No Wireless Connection

2017-07-12 Thread Joey Craig
Just an update...with Alex's help from UBNT, it appeared to be a firmware
issue. He suggested I upgrade from the most recent version to the 4.0 beta
5. Without any further aiming at this point, I had a -78 signal on one end
of the link. Our tower climbs are scheduled to come back this afternoon
(praying it doesn't rain) to finish aiming the link.

[Ubnt_users] Powering UBNT Cameras with TP-Link Switch

2018-01-12 Thread Joey Craig
We have purchased TP-Link T1600G-52PS switches in the past at the customers
request for powering UBNT cameras. We only installed the cameras but the
customer did alll of the programming of the switch.

We just purchased the same switch and had Unifi G3 cameras already installed
at a different location. We can't seem to get the switch to power the
cameras.

The switch states af/at POE+ compliant and from the way I read the
documentation on their site, I believe it should work.

I can not get anyone to pickup the phone at TP-Link and the live chat does
not support business models for switches.

Can anyone help with this issue? Can anyone recommend a 24 or 48 port switch
(other than a Unifi switch)?

2018-04-17 Thread Joey Craig
We replaced our 5ghz rocket with 30db antennas backup link with the
airfiber 5x with 30db antennas converted x-kit and were never able to get
them higher than -74 rssi. Did better with the rocket. Only changing out
equipment to get more throughput. Airlink stars it should be -53 with that
setup, just could not make it happen.

Switched the antennas out for the 34db airfiber units and had great success
at -32. Had to turn down the power on the radio.
