Ever since I updated our two computers recently (1.9.2007) with the
usual security updates, wireless is broken. Both computers are running
Kubuntu Feisty Fawn and feature a Ralink RT 2500 wireless PCI card.
I have also tried to manually bring up the network as follows:

I found out, that if the special keys don't work, the mouse is also recognized

that I was running Beryl with glx programs and all was well. After the
upgrade, the Beryl version (which I had previously compiled from source

I can repeat this loss of search results like this:
1) Open synaptic (0.57.11.1ubuntu14)
2) Click Search, type "nfs" (for example)
3) Click "Edit"->"Unmark All" in the menu at the top.
4) The search results are gone
All that's left in the left bar is "All" and "nfs".

Gutsy's microphone input doesn't work - Feisty's is confirmed working.

I think this problem was related to Envy / custom nVidia drivers.
Because after I spent a while ripping things out and putting them back
in, it works, kind of.
