Ok, finally found what was the other problem on top of libx264
2:0.98.1653+git88b90d9-3ubuntu1
Turns out that since at least June 2010, mencoder has a problem when
using the -vf crop= option. I found another report in

I've rolled back to 2:0.98.1653+git88b90d9-3 and the bug is still there
when I use mencoder with the bitrate x264 parameter (while it wasn't
before upgrading to 2:0.98.1653+git88b90d9-3ubuntu1). It's upsetting,
because it shouldn't do that and I've got no clue why it doesn't work
anymore (same

get insane results on the C2Q. The encode isn't finished, but I get an
expected filesize of 5MB on a 1h30 1500kbps encode, and the FPs are
round 98 for the first pass,
I noticed I still have libx264-98 along with libx264-106, and -98 is
probably still used by mencoder since it depends on it.
However, I tried using x264 directly (since I only have the -106 version on the
system now) and even though LouL command line fails here :

when creating a new user called user1, then playing an audio file with
Totem as Live Session user, then switching to user1 - sound from Live

Darxus, unless I'm mistaken in what you want, you probably need to
subscribe (not assign) motu-release team to this bug, since at this time
in the development cycle you'll need an FFE. You can also add [FFE] at
the beginning of the bug title, since that would make it more clear.

Matthieu's debdiff works for me on an Intuos3 tablet with either
Inkscape of the Gimp. Input 100% matches the cursor, with pressure still
there as expected.
It also seems to have fixed Bug #433121, which resulted on an immediate
Inkscape segfault that is not happening any more with the patches in

in Ubuntu since Hardy, is there any reason 0.133 gets blocked?

Note that the patches only fix the Screen mode (most used mode, only way
to get a decent precision with the devices), the Window mode still draws
off cursor. But it's by far the mode where it's important (even though
fixing the behavior in Window mode would still be a good thing).

Same bug in an up-to-date Karmic. It would be pretty confusing for any
non-en locale user, since the layout of their keyboard isn't respected
by default by IBUS.

Ideally, if someone changes the .desktop file to change the displayed
menu item, they should also fix the tool tip so it offer meaningful
information - most people won't know (or remember) what IBUS stands for
or what it is, and probably shouldn't have to. The Preference menu may
display Input
Or the package could just ship and install (a) PNG icon(s) in addition
to the SVG one(s) -it's done by other packages, and wuold prevent adding
Just One More Useless Dependency.
By the way, am I alone in thinking the default IBUS icon stands in a
Gnome desktop like an elephant in a china shop?
