Thank you so much for your help.
Unfortunately now I got another problem. I upgraded to Ubuntu 20.10 with kernel
5.8.0-28 and now the driver doesn't compile, there is a fatal error, on 20.04
with kernel 5.4.0.53 there was no errors.

Ok, I upgraded to 20.10, but in my case there are no changes, I see exactly the
same behavior than in 20.04 .

In the last 15 days I found that Pulseaudio is not working as before. I have a
TV card SAA7134, (since 3 years) that input the audio in line-in plug of the
audio card. Suddenly has became mute, after surfing the web I found
To fix my problem I removed Pulseaudio and now my sound card is working
like a charm.
Definitively Pulseaudio is a ballast for the pc and it doesn't give any
advantage, only headaches.
I think that Ubuntu must left to the user the choice to use or not

ok, now my tv card is working. The problem was that I installed Lucid from
Alpha 3 and tv card was working, after Beta 1 or 2 the card stoppped working.
Now I made a fresh install from Live CD and everything is working.
But I needed to install TVTIME from Woopie's package.

problem with tvtime and usb audio devices, but I was reporting a problem
with saa7134_alsa driver, that is not solved with the ppa
it doesn't crash for the usb sound card, but on my install it doesn find any
channel, I can't see nothing on the tv.
But as I have problem with lirc as well: lircd and irrecord can't receive
anything from the IR receiver, I suppose that the problem is in Saa7134 driver.

I found the trick.
I opened the properties of a script and in the Open with dialog I found that
it was set to the last item in the list, in some others script no one item was
set. Just to try, I set Open With Gedit in a script, now all my bash scripts
are opened automatically.
That is weird,
I have the same problem.
I use sox to redirect the audio from mi tv tuner card, using SAA7134 drivers,
both cpus are under strong charge and periodically the sound skips and I find
some warning ALSA under-run or ALSA over-run as well.
I do use Pulseaudio.

I created a new account and I tried to create a new script, the problem
persists on a new script and as well trying to open a script in the old
account, but if I quit the string #!/bin/bash the problem disappears no matter
if the file is or not executable.

I have a desktop pc in dual boot ubuntu 9.04 and ubuntu 9.10, this pc has a usb
printer Brother HL 2140. Locally the printer works fine with both version of
Ubuntu.
I have as well an EeePc with Jaunty, this netbook can print fine, on the
desktop

rsync should ignore lost+found folders

I use rsync to back-up my HDD partitions to external usb HDD.
rsync -a -aEXxv --delete /media/partition-a/ /media/partition-b/, rsync will
try to copy lost+found folder from partition-a to partition-b.
if I exclude lost+found folder in rsync
ok, i'll just wait for updates in cups.

I've done the update from the update manager and then I've recorded this short
video of what happens.
Tha same happens if I set Nautilus to open directly the scripts with gedit
istead of asking before.

SInce a couple of weeks I have this mulfunction of Nautilus: if I double-click
on the icon of a script (executable or not executable) nautilus shows the
window with the four choices Run in a terminal, Show, Quit, Run. If I
