I've found that Jaunty's udev makes an incorrect /dev/disk/by-uuid/
symlink for one of my ext3 partitions, where Intrepid's version got the
right uuid. On investigation, it turned out that the partition in
question contained residue of an NTFS bootse
I don't think "Fix Committed" is an accurate status, since no particular fix
was determined, let alone committed.
I'll close this bug as "Invalid" for now, on the basis that it contains
insufficient information to determine a root cause, and the last comment from

Pressing Alt+SysRq+K (SAK, kill processes on this VT) on VT1 attempts to
kill init, thereby panicing the kernel.
init should probably be excluded from SAK killing, as should any core
system daemons (udev, etc.) which may or may not retain some association
with vt1 (I can't te
w.r.t. Alt+F6 not working, that turned out to be that the gnomecompat
plugin seems to default the "Open Terminal" keybinding to disabled -
manually configuring that keybinding restored that functionality.
w.r.t. the gconftool output:
$ gconftool --get /apps/compiz/general/allscreens/options/activ
Acting on mvo's prompting, I checked in ccsm, and the Gnome
Compatibility plugin was *not* enabled.
Enabling it fixed Alt+F1 and Alt+F2, but not Alt+F6.
Additionally, the problem remains that this "fix" of processing these in
a compiz plugin with its own keybinding settings means that the setting

but after Jelmer noted in 325911 that syncing bzr would make bzr-svn
uninstallable, I filed the relevant sync request without remembering the
