Just before you posted this I'd had a major system problem and had to
reinstall everything.
When I did, ironically I had sound in Gnome apps but not KDE. I actually
managed to fix it though by opening the pulse audio volume controller
and noticing that the default sound output was
Latest updates seem to fix the main issue for me now. Quicklaunch applet
icon scaling goes pretty crazy, but everything else about plasma boots
and appears to work properly.

Hey Didier,
Please don't take the previous comment as representative of the whole Kdenlive
project. While Kdenlive 0.7 does, in fact, fix a very unusable previous version
(just Google Kdenlive with the word unstable), Ubuntu's release schedule is
understandable. Some kind of PPA for Intrepid
Because Intrepid's been released already, we can only get it into
Backports on Intrepid, which requires having it in Jaunty Universe
first. This requires someone packaging it for Ubuntu, which seems to be
underway over at https://bugs.launchpad.net/getdeb.net/+bug/279738

Hmmm... haven't looked at this one in a while. And in fact, I haven't

From memory I tried uninstalling it and adept uninstalled my entire
kubuntu-desktop (ie lot's of *important* packages). If you do choose to
uninstall, make sure you click on the Preview button in Adept Manager
before you click on Apply so you can see which packages it's about ot
Confirmed the exact same situation here. A laptop with Gutsy upgraded
from Kernel 2.6.22-14 to 2.6.22-15. Immediately wireless ceases to work
(it works if I choose the previous kernel). Dmesg reveals the exact same

Basically I can manually mount drives but none of the drives (except
root) automount. If I try to access my external usb in dolphin I get an

Hi,
I finally had the opportunity to test with the latest Hardy... Good
news! It works. I tried a space in the SSID, multiple spaces, then
spaces and special characters with a multi space SSID using WPA2...
perfect every time.

This one's nearly 100% reproducable here, and yet the strange thing is that
when I created a new user and logged in with that this bug doesn't seem to
occur. I've taken to logging in with the new user, connecting to the
internet (which is an instant keyboard hang on user 1), then starting a

The issue is this:
Knetworkmanager,wifi radar,kwireless tools pro, kwifimanager, and a few other
related tools, all fail to connect to any network when the ESSID has a space in
it. They all find the network, but fail on trying to connect. Iwconfig from the

One of my systems reports this when strigidaemon is started from CLI:
WARNING: field TODO_tracknumber is not define in .fieldproperties ontology
database.

Panel-Menus
You'll see four radio box options that let you choose which
combination and order to show the program name and description in the
menu:
1. Name only
2. Name-description
3. Description only
4. Description (Name)

manager-Desktop Cube-Appearence...
Yet all background wallpapers
I used to have this, but I just changed back to Name -Description, and
it now seems to work for me.
