I can also confirm this bug in hardy beta. Unchecking and rechecking
the the box next to the network interface works around the problem (auth
eth0 shows up in /etc/network/interfaces then).

I tried out this workaround and it works for me (with Gutsy). I only
added '--sm-disable' to the Evolution Alarm Notify command under the
Startup Programs tab of the Sessions preferences. Now I get calendar
alarm notifications for both local and exchange calendar events.

I am running 7.10 and also still have this problem (had it in 7.04 too).
I have found the only reliable way to get alarms is to forcibly shutdown
the evolution components when restarting evolution. evolution --force-
shutdown; evolution. If I do this, I seem to always get alarms and my

Agreed. Using the lfs option, it worked. So the case should be closed.
The only thing remaining to do is perhaps the fact that the lfs option
does not seem to be that well documented. Once you know the option, yes
it is easy (google) but it is not so when you don't know the name of the
option.
Today, it works without fix for Casper, gnome-speech selects now the correct
voice of eSpeak according to the LANG variable.

When burning a data CD, the progress bar displays also the remaining
time before the end of burning.
But few minutes after the beginning of the burn process, this time
information disappears, and only the position of the progress bar
What's interesting here is that uploading large files (100 Gb) onto a
NAS drive using nautilus works fine (I suspect nautilus use the
smbclient command) and that getting this same large file through the
samba mount works!!
What does not work is trying to upload a large file through the samba

I have been testing cifs due to current smb issues with large files (see
bug #38886) and I have stumbled across a number strange behaviors. Most
of them are related to access right issues.

I have been trying to do various tests using cifs and a NAS drive and I
got a lot of funny results. For example when copying data, small files

Crash when cliicking

Impossible to boot with kernel 2.6.17-10-server on a EPIA M1.
No problems during the hard disc installation, with
ubuntu-6.10-server-i386 CD install, but the OS does not load.
After the boot and grub message , the screen fills with lines :

First time I try to connect to an up and running server, gtetrinet tries
to connect, but it tries endlessly ... If I hit cancel, then start it
again, it hangs up, and eats a lot of CPU.

Hm didn't bothered to launch it in a terminal, so now I can see a lot of
messages in the output, when connecting for the second time (I don't get
anything the first time):

connection).

When crashing I got the following messages :
$ firefox
** Message: plugin_get_value 1 (1)

** Message: plugin_get_value 2 (2)

The problem has disappeared once I have removed the flash pluggin.
So I am going to check with a new flash pluggin.

Using a recent flash pluggin does not change anything.
So it seems that firefox-2.0 does not support flash pluggin.
Is it possible ?
firefox-15 works perfectly .
So I am puzzled.

SATA, 2MB Cache Intel Dual Core, Rack
The installer simply ignore the hardware Raid so I configured a software
raid.
