I have a problem - when Evolution freezes, necessitating a kill
command there is no resulting crash file in /var/crash relating to this,
nor does apport pick up the crash (yes I confirm that it is turned on,
as I have used it to submit crash reports recently).
I tried to get some info by
hi - just done a check 2 minutes ago to make sure I have all updates -
and the issue is still there - unless the mirror in South Africa is
somewhat behind ?

me to change the setting did not come up, and then shortly afterwards, I

No, this is a bug in kdm. Window managers should put .desktop files for
their sessions in /usr/share/xsessions. kdm is responsible for
/usr/share/apps/kdm/sessions (or
/usr/lib/kde4/share/kde4/apps/kdm/sessions/ for kdm-kde4).

I've just realized that my fix only works if include_path has already
been set in php.ini. It seems that if include_path has not been

rhythmbox freezes after playing for an hour or more and locks
OK back again
I did all the updates released 22 april on a system that is still a
default - no new apps added (apart from Bluefish, which should have no
impact on a sound app in any case), and only the recommended codecs as
suggested by the system to play my files (Gstreamers) .

to lock when rhythmbox
froze, and when I quit rhythmbox - which unlocked gdb - no info was available

The title says it all really - I play from local files - mp3 and ogg -
in my /home/user/Music directory created by a default install of Hardy
Heron using free space at the end of my hard drive - dual booting with
winxp.
I run evolution,
updates have been applied. The only added extra is the nvidia
module. The only console changes are the usual reduction in timeout of
sudoers file and the re-arrangement of the grub list to put XP first.
Now I just have to see if this will still freeze, or not.

I have even got a skip when merely minimising or maximising another app
- for example my typical session would include rhythmbox, evolution,
pidgin and firefox - I have not yet fiddled with any of the services as
yet - to improve matters, but in any case this is a reasonably
responsive system in

in the left side pane, as it tries to re-import the files again.

In my case problem was in package libtag from rusxmms project.
Gnome-settings-daemon hanging was caused by gstreamer hanging, and gstreamer
hanging was caused by libtag.
After installing libtag from ubuntu repository, problem has gone.
