the low-graphics alert during startup - and the change to

currently gets confused when someone asks Is X available in Synaptic
Package Manager, despite the fact that many different distros use it.

I am referring to the bug in Lucid, yes. My point was that the messages
shown above exist for a Karmic LTSP server also, and do not indicate the
real problem. On Karmic, ldm still comes up and you don't see the
messages, since they're on vt7. On Lucid, there's a problem with Xorg,

It appears that the mount messages seen aren't the real problem - in
fact, if you boot a thin client to a Karmic LTSP server and turn off
quiet and splash, you see the same messages, but ldm comes up fine and
log in works.
I get X/ldm crashing upon login. Is this when you others are seeing the

This seems like a no brainer to me. If one wants to remove all traces
of a package (including config files), it makes perfect sense that
they'd want to do the same for the dependencies. Make it a preferences
option if nothing else...
As it stands, one has to go back and purse the dependencies
While this isn't a situation that happens often, it is certainly a bug
that should be addressed. Any chance to get this in for Lucid?

There is no point in offering the user the option to completely remove
a package when it has no configuration files to completely remove. It
would make sense to keep this option unselectable when selecting a
package that has no config files.
I'd love to see this fixed. As it stands, if two packages depend on
each other, gdebi can't install either of them, as with each package, it
expects the other to be installed first.
