I have two configurations at home at the moment: A Pi3 with Digi+ Pro

After I had enabled ALSA 10 band equalizer from within piCorePlayer the
first time with the Pi3-based system, I noticed something like clipping
when the source (music track) was high level. I

I have what may be a related problem. I have two Beocreate boards
attached to Pi3B+s. The Beocreates are using the stock Beovox
CX100 image uploaded to the DSP. With the HiFiBerryOS software
squeezelite works fine but I would like to move to pCp - for two
reasons: it is more robust and the
At this point old stock is likely gone. The supply chain is empty.
Likely this new board revision is to allow some limited production at
all.

So I ordered another Pi4 1GB and the PCB is already Version 1.5,
squeezelite is not running. If anyone has an idea how to source previous
revisions, I am interested. My vendor could not offer the service to
search for a previous revision. Regards
Yes, this was the forum message that I was referring to. I did not know

interesting. Ordered a Pi4 1GB now and hoping its is still build the old

According to their forum support account, they have acknowledged that
they in fact do have a problem. At some point we can hope this is going
to work again. On the Pi3 everything is now running, only that I have so

I lent myself a Pi3 today to chross check and indeed, squeezelite just
runs after setting up the Digi+ Pro as playback device.

Getting a Pi3 instead seems to be a viable and much cheaper option. A
bit sad that the HiFiBerry Digi steel case for Pi3 is not available

I do not need a DAC at all, because the digital signal is going into a
Hypex plate amp that has its own converters.
I always thought Justboom products where produced by the same factory as
the HiFiBerry SPIDF-boards, but the latter had bought the more
sophisticated layouts too. When I asked JB
If you are using a pi4, then USB dacs can be very attractive. The Pi4
does not suffer from the USB problems of the older Pies.
For digi Hats, those are your only real commercial options. There might
be some DIY boards out there though, but research drivers before you do
those.

I have been quite pleased with the justboom digi. I run it on a 4GB
pi4, using pCP with LMS and hosting my media files on a USB drive.

I ran into the same problem in that squeelite won't start for the digi2
board. As I'm a bit time squeezed at the moment I tried the hifiberry os
as suggested here and it does work. It's not as snappy, or even remotely
as configurable as pcp, but it does work on a pi4.
However I suspect the next
I re-ran all the test done with Digi2 and the results are basically
identical. The only thing being different that HiFiBerryOS does
misrecognizes the Digi+ Pro as a DAC this time.

It is my understanding that modern HATS have an eeprom that tells the
RPi what device tree to load.
So, dmesg should tell you either, it successfully loaded drivers or it
failed to load drivers.

Most vendors wont support 64bit, since even rpi barely supports a pure
64 bit environment. With a 2gb board, there is not much of a reason to
run in 64bit.
