I haven't seen your posts in main pCp thread.
I don't think there is anything else he needs. He has QNAP and pCp/LMS
working just not on static IPs.
He himself has recognised that as it stands the IP of the QNAP could
change and break his mount point. I am just trying to point him in the
right

A player doesnt need a static Ip Adress, a Server (like i wrote a few

On Friday evening, I replaced a Pi 1B with a Pi 3, running
piCorePlayer/LMS (files on the QNAP). I find DSTM with Spotify
recommendations works

If the QNAP changes IP you will have to redo the connection in
PiCorePlayer and it will probably need a rescan.
Assuming your router is 192.168.1.1
Go to Network in QNAP and set the static address to
IP address 192.168.1.2
Net mask 255.255.255.0
Gateway 192.168.1.1
DNS 8.8.8.8
DNS2 8.8.4.4

I set my QNAP and Raspberry Pi to fixed IP allocation on my router. On
my Netgear router this is Address Reservation under LAN Setup.
Make it static

You can use the official Raspberry Pi touch screen with piCorePlayer and

No, it's not! The LMS that installs with piCorePlayer is from April 2016
and I think predates DSTM. On my other Raspberry Pi, I updated LMS to
see this menu option.
I just set up a Raspberry Pi 3 yesterday evening, and I cannot see DSTM
in the plugins or menus.

LMS / Settings / Player then in the drop down choose DSTM
IPeng with player selected, Settings then DSTM.
Note unless Michael has fixed it if you have synced players DSTM must be
set and match on all.

You don't need to uninstall from QNAP at this stage just install on Pi
and point players at Pi. If all good then switch off LMS on QNAP. If
it's TS119 you do it in SSOTS in Qpkgs.

Music is mostly FLAC (some 96/24) I have zero buffering so not sure why
you would have such an issue.
Actually 2 x QNAP one is a Ts109 so even Lower power than your 119.
Something isn't right if you get buffering on a fully wired

Every player, nas and raspberry are wired i don't use wifi.
Smb or nfs mounts both work and there are arguments in favour of each.
On pCp smb is easiest.

network. Do NOT try to run either the QNAP or LMS Pi wirelessly. It's
asking for trouble.
Ideally connect them both wired to the same router/switch.
