In my Find Replace the Whole Words Only option is grayed out. Match Case
is there. I'm using BrOffice 3.2.0 on Ubuntu Lucid, 10.40
I use the option often and this is the first time I've noticed this issue.

I write and I use only OO on a Linux platform - I save in the odt format
and only convert it to doc if I have to. Which usually I don't, since
for my novels I send out hard copies.

I noticed today, when I had to save an .odt document into Word to send
to someone that the original .odt doc was only 29.9 KB and the resultant
Word doc was 163.5 KB. Quite a size difference.

You seem to be right. It's only the use of the apostrophe that triggers the
failure. Whether the apostrophe is before the period or after, the word
won't be capitalized. Interesting.

I routinely save my odt files as docs. I do this by doing Save As then
entering the name of the file and appending it with .DOC. So far it's never
failed and it never shows up as an .ODT file.
