hi:
i am using vpopmail 5.4.30 with cdb module.
I tried to use "vpasswd" program to change password, like:

You can use cdbdump to dump the password file from the cdb file. You

Hi,
to recover I don't know. Bu I would try do create a new vpasswd file
without any password. And if you have vpopmail with the
--auto-learn-passwords option built into than you probably be ok.

No offense taken...I'm a router guy, not a linux guy, and I don't

Hrm...that looks to be the case...
How do I differentiate b/n vpopmail & vmailmgr vpasswd commands?

Hi,
Having some issues w/ vpasswd, and was wondering if anyone would know
the answer
Basically, trying to use the vpasswd command to change a virtual domains
user password, but for some reason, I get the following:

Hi,
Is there a reason why vpasswd is limited to 15 character password?
mail# vpasswd test 01234567890123456
Error: password too long
If I change the clear password length to 32, will there be some consequence
that I might regret?
In vpopmail.h:
#define MAX_PW_CLEAR_PASSWD 32

Hi
Running vpopmail 5.3.8 qmailadmin-1.0.6 on RH7.3
We had a couple of instances where the vpasswd file gets deleted.
Vpasswd.cdb is not affected.
Anyone know why this happens?
Thanks

Hi
We have a strange problem. Sometimes the vpasswd file gets deleted. The
vpasswd.cdb file are not touched. Concurrent with this (some times!) the
email directories of the email accounts gets deleted! Most of the times
it is only the cur & tmp Dir.'s, however a couple of occasions the new

Yeah, recompiles without clear passwords. That extra field in the
password file for clear text passwords doesn't exist in your password
files. Just compile without clear text passwords and it should fix it.

I noticed, in qmailadmin it is no longer listing my

Hi,
I would like to understand the format of vpasswd file, specially regarding
those codes used to allow and deny the access to some services like pop,
disable account and so on.
Is there some documentation about it? I didn't find anything in vpopmail docs.
