the ticking is because of sample rate. DV projects typically use 48hrz audio. if you drag an mp3 (and some other audio formats) that uses a different sample rate you will get problems. rendering the file in FCP will not fix the problem. exporting from Quicktime to AIFF is the best workflow, but
