Joshua, That weird tapping thing you referenced after your upgrade to iOS 13.x is called haptic feedback. I was also a bit surprised by it when I first upgraded to iOS 13 but I'd suggest you leave it on and try it out for a while. I expect it is helpful to those who also have a hearing
