Viewing albums of photos using the native facebook for iPhone app
Hi, I am trying to view an entire album of photos using the native facebook for iPhone app. It says I have 351 or so photos but moving left and right using voice over I only see maybe about 25. I must say, I got a Microsoft account, actually, a hotmail address, back in 2003, so I did not have to go through the convoluted process of trying to establish an account. Hi Jan, I bought the Apple Smart case for my iPad Mini. The back of the case completely encloses the iPad, and the front folds over the screen. When you close the front flap, it turns the iPad lock screen on. There are cut outs for buttons, etc. This is not a case that is like armor, so, if you need a lot of protection for your iPad Mini I would look at something else. I’m not carrying my iPad Mini everywhere, so this case is sufficient for my needs. Thanks- I had first selected albums and then tried artists and was wondering if a choice somewhere was disabling that entire submenu. I'm finding that the context menus in the new version are now very limited and that I have to look around a lot to find alternative ways of selecting commands. Also have not yet found it possible to add single songs to the phone from the PC like before. Hello, Jen. To delete your browsing history: 1. Double-tap Bookmarks. 2. Make sure Favorites is selected. 3. Double-tap History. 4. Double-tap the Clear button at the bottom of the screen, and then double-tap the Clear History confirmation. I don't know of a way to delete individual items on the History page. I don't have any Social Links, but have you tried swiping down with one finger starting from the title of the item you are trying to delete? Hi Cher, I think in time you will find iTunes 11 works quite well, I actually like it better than anything that came before. You do have to use F6 quite a bit to get around and sometimes you have to tab a lot, but it all works quite well. I suggest for adding single songs that you add those into a Playlist and then sync the Playlist with those songs in it. There are cases out there for iPads that let you place your iPad in a holder and it has a QWERTY keyboard built in so it takes your iPad and turns it in to a laptop. Well, more like a netbook. I have the iPad Air and it sits in a slot at the bottom and clips in at the top. There are holes for the up/down volume controls, the mute and unmute, etc. I paid 99 bucks for mine. It comes with a USB cable that is used to recharge the keyboard. I charged it up when I got it on the 23rd of January. Here we are on the first of February and the battery shows no sign of running out of power. My case uses magnets that let you adjust the iPad to any of 3 comfort settings and, you can also place the Air flat and face up in the case which also then turns off the power to the built in keyboard. My keyboard is the Ultimate keyboard made by Belkin. They offer the same keyboard for all versions of the iPad. Knowing Belkin, they probably have the same thing for iPhones too. The only kind of tricky thing about Rhapsody is that you have to do a three-finger-swipe right for the previous page gesture in order to get to the search area. It has some odd message on the homescreen about being offline when it isn't. Other than that, I've found it quite useable. And Rhapsody allows you to play specific playlists, songs, and albums with a monthly subscription service. (about $7 uS a month.) Jan, I suggest you do a search on amazon. There are literally hundreds of them. I have several cases for my Mini including 2 keyboard cases and a case that has no keyboard but protects the front and back and also sleeps and wakes the mini when open and closed. This one is made by Poetic and cost me around $15. It's a great case despite the low price. It's black fo-leather. Both Logitech and Belkin make very good cases as well but overpriced IMHO. Are you sure you don't have it inside of another folder? Do a search with your iPhone and see if you have it. If not you can easily we downloaded from the App Store at no cost if you already purchased it. You can also go into the App Store and the Updates tab. Double tap on the purchased heading and then look for blind Square. If it's still on your phone, you'll see a button to open it, and if not, as Feliciano states, you'll see a button to download it again. BTW, you can search for an app by using handwriting mode on any home page or by bringing up the spotlight search. Looking for a free txting app that is accessible in Canada
Hi, I am looking for a free txting app that will work for the US and Canada but will be able to be used by myself who lives in Canada. I installed text plus but it is not as voice over friendly as it appeared. I then used Voxer but it too isn’t voice over friendly anymore. Hi Teresa, Your best bet is to do a three-finger swipe down to invoke Spotlight Search, and type 'blindsquare' in the search box. If it's on your phone it should show up in the results list and tell you where it is. For example, when I typed blinds into the search box, VoiceOver said something about Blindsquare being the top search result and told me that it's in my social networking folder. It's probably obvious, but you need to do the three finger swipe down to invoke the spotlight search from a home page. BTW, switching to handwriting mode on a home page and then starting to spell out the name of the app will also search through your home pages and folders. Trouble deleting some events from native Calendar
Hi, I have some events in my native calendar that won't delete. I think they may have been populated when I got the app USA Holidays. In Calendar, under Search, the first two listings are for Thanksgiving 2013 and Christmas 2013, though they state new event. Both are listed with a start date that is appropriate, but both end with December 31 from the year 2000. When I activate the event and hit edit, and flick to delete and then delete, nothing happens. I can't seem to change the end date of the year 2000 either, as this datapoint does not come up with a picker option. Any ideas? Thanks in advance. Hi Bill, I can go in and change it to all day. When I do this, I can then change the end date to after the start date, i.e. December 31 2013. But then when I click done, the Calendar closes to the HomeScreen, and when I reopen it, the changes I made didn't stick. This happens whether or not I change the end date year to after the start date. This seems very strange. Could they be showing up on your calendar because of a calendar you've subscribed to? Double tap the calendars button at the bottom of the Calendar app and see if you have a calendar like US Holidays in your subscribed calendars section. I'm not sure what you're referring to, but you can go in and change some of the characteristics of your heroes, like their hair color, the color of their clothing and so on. Some of these will cost you some money. I assume they don't effect the performance of your characters, but rather just how they appear. I think it probably is related to the USA Holidays I downloaded. When I go in to Calendars, I don't see a Subscribed list of Calendars, but when I turn off All iCloud, all calendar events go away. No events are listed when only Home is checked. Halloween 2015 is listed when Work is the only Calendar checked. Making progress, but still not solved. I need to write this to the people at Tap Tap See, but right now I am anything but constructive. For some odd reason I love to know what my fortune cookie says. So I started tap tap see and took a picture. first come back was, fortune cookie paper. Brilliant deduction Sherlock. I am blind not dense. Next came back with numbers. Oops! wrong side so I flip it over. Then next I get, white paper with black text. No kidding! Next I finally am treated to the actual fortune. Now I had another one stuffed in my jacket pocket so I decided since I was in picture wasting mode I might as well try for more. First was fortune cookie paper, then text on white paper, then numbers, my bad again, turn it over. Then back to same stuff different side. Finally, the words I had been waiting to hear. all in all, 11 pictures wasted before outcome is achieved. I have paid for 100 pictures and feel this is a huge rip off. If I had a way to ask even though in this case I don't feel I should have to state the obvious, A lot of time and wasted effort could have been eliminated. Any thoughts anybody? Question about sending an e-mail to a group in IOS
Hello list, I have a few groups set up in my contacts. When I try to send an e-mail using a group in IOS, I'm not able to do so. I figured it would just be as easy as putting the cursor in the TO field, start typing the name of my group, selecting it from the auto complete options, and send my message. But, the group never comes up in auto complete suggestions. Help with this would be much appreciated. Thanks. Hi, I write the following in humility and with the utmost respect. While I too have always been a proponent of an ask a specific question feature and think it certainly could serve only to enhance the usefulness and efficiency of the app for all users, it seems to me that your reaction in this instance might be a bit unfair. After all given the scope of the information the app delivers to recognizers at this juncture they did give accurate information based on that which they had available to them. You know what they say about assuming (smile). We can’t assume that what we wish to know is obvious to them any more than they could or necessarily should assume that they can deduce exactly that you wanted the actual text of the fortune. In truth I’m amazed that it came out clearly enough for someone to eventually recognize for you. Again I’m not disagreeing that an ask a specific question via text feature in the app isn’t greatly longed for and perhaps necessary to enhance its usefulness. I’m just saying that I’m glad your rant was first directed at us as opposed to them (smile). Perhaps when the heat of the moment has dissipated a request for such a feature and explanation of how it could only benefit both users of the app and those who recognize images might be easier for you to send their way. Hi Tom and company, Thanks for your help, I did find it and you were right, it was inside another unrelated folder. It wasn't obvious to me and I never would have thought of using the search function. I will think about using it from now on though. All of us have areas that little bits of information fall between the cracks. Our lives are so complicated with so much to learn and know, there is no way we can all be an expert in everything we need to know about. Each time you take a picture of a paper with text on it does not guarantee the text will be recognisable, even by a human. hi, I'm goint to wait to use this ap again after they put in a section so that you can verbaly or send a text question along with the picture inabaling better results. Though I think the writing on those slips of paper might be hard for anyone to read even with a good camera with good pixal count. Atleast they could tell you that though. Yes, but the ability to ask questions has already been put to the fine people at TTS and still nothing as of yet. That is not to say it isn't being worked on. I don't care how small or stupid to some people a fortune is, not everybody is going to want the same things from an app. It has done me many favors and read some really neat things to me but it seems more and more as though it is not doing the job expected. Several months ago, if I took a picture of a fortune cookie paper, which I had done, it would be read the first time. This is not the case any more. I have meat in my freezer which I buy by the side and by the pig and It does not have bar codes on it and just has labels that have to be read. TTS Used to get these right on the first try and this is not the case any more. Yes, I agree, I as well have stopped buying credit for this app. I’m not going to buy credit for a product that doesn’t help me find the information I need. We have to have the ability to ask a question or at least type one. Tap Tap See isn’t giving out the information any longer as well as it used to after the purchasing of credits came into the picture. Something needs to be done here, because I’m not wasting money on something, that I can’t use, and I’m sure many would agree with me. And every time we click a picture, if it gets answered, there goes another credit, even if the answer is wrong. This isn’t right. Somehow if we get the information wrong we should be able to somehow make tap-tap-see aware of this and they should refund the credit back to us in my opinion. It just isn’t right for us to have to pay for something that plainly isn’t doing anything to help figure out what we’re looking at. Wasn’t this the ap’s purpose anyway? At least that’s how I perceived the description of it. Ciri can’t find several main people when I attempt to send a text message. I know the people I am trying to send the text to are in contact list, but Ciri says she cannot find them. Hi, I really value your post. I have been one of those who have been out on the fence and not purchase a 100 picture package, nor have I updated TaTapSee, which sits in my app store. Do you have Talking Goggles? I know it's not perfect, but it could give you enough of the info to identify the items you need. I just used it yesterday when I needed to trouble shoot my computer screen and give me the info I needed to make a decision on how to proceed. It's just a thought. Like you, I am disappointed that TapTapSee changed their business model, but I do understand why. In the past, there had been times when I needed to take more than one picture and the picture and would have counted against my 100 count. It's not that I object to supporting the debs and paying the fee, but I would like to have increased accuracy in the responses. I guess I am still one of the luckier ones that I still get a response to VizWiz when I send them a picture. JMO. Hi David, You have a point, but I wondering if Sandy (Queen of OCR) uses TapTapSee current version and is having problems with it. I feel like I am fairly skillful using OCR apps and before the update to tapTapSee that their were numerous times that I needed to retake a picture because of it not being identified on the first take. Gosh, even if I am lucky enough to be around a sighted person, and ask for information on an item, they do not provide me with the information I am seeking on the first time--at least half the time. I recently moved, and since there was no way I could pack my entire household by myself in the amount of time we had, I started unpacking and no idea what all of these bottles were. I used Tap Tap See and while I got some woman holding black and blue bottle I bet 95% of the time I got true useful information. I too would love to see a text box put in, because when I held up a bag of coffee, I wanted to know if it was decaf or reg, and instead I just got the brand name. Hi Kay, With all respect, you just said you had to resort to Camfind to get the job done so that means you were able to get the job done with Camfind, a free app, so why not just use it from now on or at least until Tap Tap See has made it possible to ask a question along with your text. Keep in mind that Tap Tap See is only one app/project for the developers. I’m not an app developer, but I assume changing Tap Tap See so you can ask a question or maybe pick from a list of certain general questions may not be as easy as you think. Personally I am happy anytime I successfully use any of these apps, Tap Tap See, Camfind, Talking Goggles etc., to recognize anything since it’s sure a lot more than what I was able to do before. I’ve been to Chinese restaurants with friends and even some of them who were perfectly sighted had a hard time to read these tiny slips of paper that come out of a fortune cooky. Well, at least I hope your message when you finally got the answer was “You will experience great financial gain soon which allows you to buy more Tap Tap See credits” *smile*. Jerry, I think a lot of people still find Tap Tap See useful, get good information and don’t mind the fact that sometimes what comes back is not perfect. The fact is that Tap Tap See occurs the cost of the image recognition whether the information is what you want or maybe even if the information you want is in your photo. Anyhow, Tap Tap See is one of several apps out there and you make the choice as to whether you want to use it or maybe I should say you choose whether it’s worth it to you to buy credits. If not, there is Camfind, Digit-Eyes, Red Laser, Talking Googles and others most of which are free or can be purchased with a one-time payment. I think it’s unfair to claim Tap Tap See isn’t doing anything to add the ability to ask a question or to complain the feature is not yet there. Why don’t we wait another 4 or 6 months, if it’s not there then maybe it’s OK to complain. I think that in at least some cases, the user may be expecting results that the app was not meant to provide. If you want text read to you, why not use an OCR app? I use OCR on a daily basis to very good effect. I do not use TapTapSee because I cannot ask a question with my image. That said, I fully understand why the developers charge as they do. It costs significant amounts of money to process the images. Eileen, I don't have a problem in the world with paying, I just think that we should get what we pay for. I don't know or understand what happened to the accuracy of what we need. Yes, I do use CamFind and like it a lot because one time I took a picture of a bottle of Permabond metal adhesive and I went to their web site and found the instructions on how to use it. That app is a definite keeper. It just bothers me that TTS was really good and I used to use it a lot but now it does not work as well as it once did. as I said before, I have no problem paying and that is not the issue here. BARD Movile app won't extract the file
Guys, I just downloaded the BARD mobile app and tried to added two books to my wish list. When I downloaded the first one, I was told that I failed to extract the file. Are there certain books that can be downloaded to an IOS device? The system requirements for both books mentioned needing either a digital talking book player a computer with a web connection. Would try closing the app out of the app list and restarting it. If that doesn't work, try a different book or magazine. I did have this happen once or twice in the beginning, but not since. At most, you might have to delete the app and start from scratch. Hope not, and wouldn't think so, but that has worked for other apps with problems.
