Does it work like send space?

I also have experienced similar behavior. The audio seems to stop. When I

I am not a hundred percent certain but I think the issue you may be having is
similar to something I go through as it has to do with blackout and commercials
not an accessibility issue. Some times At Bat does not air all the commercials
and the audio will go dead for a minute or so then come back on. I have noticed
this with a few game feeds that are out of my market. Think it has something to
do with local advertising.

Re: Possibly off topic, a question about the play room

2016-04-14 Thread Shawn Krasniuk
If you don't get the on screen keyboard anywhere else besides the chat window,
then it can't be done with iOS. Maybe if you had a bluetooth keyboard it could
work, but if you're only playing via touch screen, I'd say that you're pretty
much SOL.

RE: After updating to IOS 9.3.1 Agogo does not work

2016-04-14 Thread Pinky
Hi Lisa,
Thanks for the info. I just wanted to make sure how Agogo was working on other
people's IOS devices. I know before I updated to IOS 9.3.1 Agogo worked ok. I
did not want to uninstall it and lose all of my Go Channels. So if it works the
same on your IOS device there must be an issue since the last update.

Thanks for sharing this with me.

Okay, this is really weird. I noticed the exact same thing today when I went
into my Go channel and picked a show further down the list. Going to Now
playing does make it play, but it's not as intuitive as it was before.
It must have something to do with the latest iOS because as far as I know there
hasn't been an update to Agogo for over a year.

Hi Lisa,
Thanks for all your info. I signed up and then I signed out. I then emptied my
app switcher and turn off my iPad. Started my iPad back up and signed into the
Agogo app. Then I went into my Go channels. This is where I use to be able to
just double tap with one finger on any of my Go channels. Now when I double tap
nothing happens. But if I go up to the right corner and tap on now playing I
get a box that comes up and it has on it previous, play, Next, discover, and
more. So I have to click on play to get my Go channels to play. Whereas when I
had IOS 8.3 all I had to do was double tap on my Go Channels and they would
play. So my question to you is when you go to your Go Channels and then can
you double click on one of them in your list and will it start playing?

Ed, go to options and swipe by heading until you get to account options.
Then sign out of your agogo account. Then sign in from scratch with the
password and Email address you used when you originally set up the account.
I believe the Email addy shows by default. they can send you a link to reset
your password if you've forgotten this.

You can also reset your password from the main Agogo web site. it's
http://www.agogo.com/users/sign_in. The same process applies, only IMO it's
easier to do on a PC.

Hi. This may or may not be related to the latest iOS update.

I've had 9.3.1 on my iPhone for nearly two weeks and I noticed that starting
on Friday of last week Agogo was being flakey by not updating content in a
timely manner. It seems to have been corrected as of noon central time in
the U.S. If it's still acting buggy you might want to sign out and then
back in on your iPad. I've had an issue where things just stopped updating
and I signed into their web site on my windows PC and Emailed their tech
support and the problem was corrected in a matter of hours.

Re: email notification question

Hello, isn't an exchange account? If it is it should support push. So if pushes
time non-on the native mail app you will get notified right away soon as male
hits it.

email notification question

2016-04-14 Thread Jed Barton

Hey guys,

I am setting up an additional email account on my phone. I need to know
when email comes in to this account. Is there any way i can set up a
notification for this?

It's a work related thing.

Thanks,
Jed

RE: bluetooth headset recommendations

2016-04-14 Thread Kramlinger, Keith G., M.D.
Hi Sieghard,

I recently recievd my Edge. Prior, I had been using a Voyager Legend Pro.

I was expecting something the size of a key, but there are different size keys.
It's bigger than my apartment unit door key, and slightly longer than our
buildings front door key. It's closer to my wife's car key, but these come in
many shapes and sizes, I'm sure.

It's shaped a bit like a smoking pipe. The bowl end is what goes in your ear,
and the stem of the mic is about the size and shape of the Allen wrenches I'm
used to for small to moderately sized Allen nuts.

I use it without the ear hook, and it feels pretty solid, but I can understand
how one could lose it if out and about. It's very light and I easily forget I'm
wearing it. I don't use it when travelling about town, only when stationary or
working at home. I still use my Voyager Legend at times, I am very comfortable
with both. If the Edge falls out with the power on, you can use the Plantronics
Hub iPhone app to help you find it. I haven't done this, but I imagine it a bit
like the AppleWatch Ping my iPhone feature.

Changing calendar views.

2016-04-14 Thread englishrider91
The calendar has gotten really weird in iOS 9. I'm seeing one day, then a bunch
of hours listed. I can't seem to be able to find multiple days on the screen
like I used to be able to. I selected the list view button, but all that gave
me was days that showed up as headings, and underneath the headings were all
the appointments for that day. Navigating by heading in this few produced very
unreliable results, particularly when going up by heading rather than down by
heading. I would jump from one date to the next, sometimes not even in
reverse-chronological order,even though I was flicking up I don't like either
of these views. The way I used to have my calendar set up is that all the
days/dates would run in rows and columns across the screen, but no events would
show for a specific day unless it was selected, and the events only for that
selected day showed up at the bottom of the screen. How can I get this view
back? I'm running iOS 9 .3 on my iPhone 6S.

Re: "a little confused by VDR's new sort by popup.

2016-04-14 Thread englishrider91
Disregard my previous message. I was tapping on the dismiss pop up thing,
rather than the close button, and my changes weren't being saved. I find this
new interface of popping things up and having no back button sort of A step
backwards. This really becomes a problem in the settings area, where you have
to close settings after doing something, then reopen it to do something else.

Ari

Re: bluetooth earpieces - not losing them

2016-04-14 Thread Sherrie
No, I can’t alleviate your fear since I lost my $95 Voyager Edge about two
weeks ago and have looked everywhere. I even wore the ear hook with it but it
has not shown up. I did stick it in my pocket when I was out when I did not
want to use it and it is gone. $95 is a lot of money to lose and pay again. So
I am back to the Apple ear pods for now.

Subject: bluetooth earpieces - not losing them

I have been sticking to the apple earbuds that come with our phones for the
last 3 years. Generally speaking, I like how they fit in my ears, the remote
control feature, that they don’t have to be charged, and, and this may sound
funny, I like that they are either attached to my phone or the cord is long
enough that I don’t really lose them. However, I am forever untying knots in
them as they get twisted in my purse or in my pockets. One coworker suggested
getting a pair of headphone that has a cord wrapped in a heavier material that
doesn’t knot as easily. I’ve had some of these earphones in the past and they
still do get twisted up. That means that the next logical step, unless I’m
missing a good option out there, is to go with Bluetooth earphones of some
sort. But my fear as a blind person is that I will lose them since I imagine
them to be small. I do not want to be wearing them every hour I’m awake. I
have visions of the thing falling off my head or off my desk or into the bottom
of my purse. Can some of you alleviate my concerns and tell me what the
experience is really like or what other options you’ve chosen to get rid of the
forever tangling Apple earbuds? Secondarily, is it expected that you need to
charge them each night?

Maps

2016-04-14 Thread Shaf
How do folks get an exact location of a person through either Find
Friends or Find iPhone?
I get a map, but the only way to find somebody's exact location on Find
Friends is to go to Notify me, and then it'll show me the exact address.
Obviously this isn't possible on Find iPhone, but what other workarounds
do you guys use?
Also, what's the best way to get an exact location on iCloud.com?

Re: After updating to IOS 9.3.1 Agogo does not work

2016-04-14 Thread Lisa Belville
Okay, this is really weird. I noticed the exact same thing today when I
went into my Go channel and picked a show further down the list. Going to
Now playing does make it play, but it's not as intuitive as it was before.
It must have something to do with the latest iOS because as far as I know
there hasn't been an update to Agogo for over a year.

Hi Lisa,
Thanks for all your info. I signed up and then I signed out. I then emptied
my app switcher and turn off my iPad. Started my iPad back up and signed
into the Agogo app. Then I went into my Go channels. This is where I use to
be able to just double tap with one finger on any of my Go channels. Now
when I double tap nothing happens. But if I go up to the right corner and
tap on now playing I get a box that comes up and it has on it previous,
play, Next, discover, and more. So I have to click on play to get my Go
channels to play. Whereas when I had IOS 8.3 all I had to do was double tap
on my Go Channels and they would play. So my question to you is when you go
to your Go Channels and then can you double click on one of them in your
list and will it start playing?

Ed, go to options and swipe by heading until you get to account options.
Then sign out of your agogo account. Then sign in from scratch with the
password and Email address you used when you originally set up the account.
I believe the Email addy shows by default. they can send you a link to
reset your password if you've forgotten this.

When you are in the folder, or all items, double tap the sort order button in
the bottom left.
There you will find Open date, followed by a new/old button, then add date,
followed by new/old.
If you double tap on add date, it will say selected, then you can toggle wether
you want oldest or newest first.
Then double tap the close button.

RE: apple tv gen 4 deleting an app

2016-04-14 Thread M. Taylor
Hello Larry,

To delete an app from your Apple TV 4th Generation:

1.
Place focus on the app.

2.
Press and hold-down the TouchPad on the remote. You will hear a message
stating that you can move the app.

3.
Simply tap the Play/Pause button to display a list of actions you can perform
on the app, one of which being to delete it.

RE: Apple tv

2016-04-14 Thread M. Taylor
Hello Patti,

You ask an excellent question.

The difference between the previous Apple TV and the current one is not so much
about updates as it is about flexibility.

It also comes down to how one uses the Apple TV.

If your primary purpose is to access media stored on your network computers,
then there really is no need to purchase the new Apple TV. However, if you
want a more iOS-like environment in which you can select which apps are
installed, most of which will not work on the previous version of the device,
then the latest generation is for you.

In my case, for example, although I have been a long-time fan of the TWIT
network audio podcast, with the 4th generation Apple TV, I have downloaded the
tvOS version of the app and now I can actually enjoy the video during the
broadcast.

I much prefer the latest version of YouTube on the 4th gen, also.

Of course, this is just my opinion.

In that case I wonder if I need to get the newer one, I had thought about it

Not sure what to think now.
Was this just an older update that I just now found out about thought I don't

Re: chromecast, amazon fire stick?

2016-04-14 Thread Christina C.
the important thing with the Chromecast is to make sure the app you want to
“cast” to the tv supports the Chromecast and is voice Over accessible. Last
time I checked, none of apple's iOS apps support the Chromecast. There are
other third party apps on iOS that work with the Chromecast though like
Netflix. Look online for a list of iOS apps that support the Chromecast. I
personally feel the apple TV is the better way to go if you are heavily
invested in the apple ecosystem and prefer to buy and rent movies and music
through apple. However, if you only want to cast Netflix and google’s media one
may be satisfied with the more economical Chromecast.

2016-04-14 Thread Patti Johnson
Yes, that does help, thank you for your input. I just wanted to know
for sure if purchasing the new one would really benefit or if I could
be okay with the older one and its updates.
Looks like I'm going to be spending some money soon, grin.
Thanks,
Patti

I dont' like using stereo earphones if I'm out and about as I prefer to have a

It goes for around $90 on Amazon.

Can anybody recommend a good bluetooth earpiece which actually fits on your ear

RE: Apple tv

2016-04-14 Thread Merv Keck
Hi,
The older one, third gen, occasionally gets updates. However the updates are
not as robust as the fourth Generation updates. They may include security
updates, an occasional bug fix, or an additional channel once in a while! I
highly doubt you will ever see anything major happen on the third gen such as
the addition of Apple Music.
I had decided I would not purchase the fourth generation Apple TV. However,
once I did I was very happy with the sound quality and the additional features.
The new touch screen remote took a little getting accustomed to but Siri is a
nice addition. There are still one or two things I need to work out bot all in
all I'm pretty happy with moving up to the fourth generation for the more
robust feature set.
Hope that helps.
Merv

I am not a hundred percent certain but I think the issue you may be having is
similar to something I go through as it has to do with blackout and commercials
not an accessibility issue. Some times At Bat does not air all the commercials
and the audio will go dead for a minute or so then come back on. I have noticed
this with a few game feeds that are out of my market. Think it has something to
do with local advertising.

Hi all.

This is one issue that has me stumped. I’m listening to an MLB game with the
At Bat app. Every so often the inning ends and commercials start playing, then
the app stops playing the feed. Here’s what makes things even weirder. I have
my iPhone 6s Plus locked. If I unlock it after the stream stops, almost every
time it starts playing immediately, and the process continues until another
inning begins. This doesn’t happen for each half inning, just randomly.

Anybody experiencing this issue, and if so how do you solve it?

P.S. the iPhone is a 128 GB phone, so I don’t think lack of storeage is an
issue.

Hi Rose,

Try signing out of iCloud on your iPad. Choose the option to leave your
contacts on your phone. Then sign back into iCloud. With any luck, that will
make the contacts sync to iCloud.

Difficulty activating WiFi Calling

2016-04-14 Thread Esther Levegnale
Hi, All!

I've been grappling back and forth with AT trying to set up WiFi calling and
they can't seem to get the code needed for doing this. When I activate WiFi
calling, and enable it, I get a message saying that they can't set it up until
I call a particular 800 number which I've done. The technician I'm dealing
with told me that VoiceOver might be the problem, but I don't think it is,
because many of you have set up this feature. Any help will be truly greatly
appreciated. Thanks.

"a little confused by VDR's new sort by popup.

2016-04-14 Thread englishrider91
While VDR's new sort by popup is awesomely customizable, and that's great, it's
also confusing me a bit. Before VDR's update, I usually sorted books by the
most recent option. I can't seem to figure out how to get the newest version of
VDR to do this. I'm sure it's just something obvious I'm missing. I hope
someone can give me a hand with this.

Re: Question about Bluetooth keyboard for iPhone

2016-04-14 Thread englishrider91
Though this is less important now than it once was, you may still want to look
for a bluetooth keyboard with control and option keys. These keys are used
(though there are ways to do most things without them) for VoiceOver commands.
You can now assign the caps-lock key to the VO keys. You are also going to want
arrow keys and a command key.

Lots of people on this list seem to like the Logitech K810 or K811. I can't
remember the differences between them, but I'm sure someone who knows about
both of them will respond. People also like the Logitech Keys to Go, the Amazon
Basics Bluetooth Keyboard, and the Anker bluetooth steyboard.

A good place to learn about bluetooth keyboards that people have used with VO
is on the accessories page of applevis.com. I think there was a series of
podcasts produced on using a bluetooth keyboard with VO on AppleVis. I hope
this helps you.

Thanks,
Ari

Hi,
Yes. If I flick to the left, it just says who's turn it is, and
if I look to the right, I see board. While the property is on
auction, I see xx is on auction, but double tapping on it, or
something that obvious like that, doesn't get me anywhere.
