Re: a call audio routing question

2019-11-30 Thread Mike B.
Hi Duane,

See if these notes help, because there are 2 places for making this setting
change:

**This is where the setting is for when the phone switches to the speaker
phone when you move the phone away from your ear, & it switches to speaker
phone.

Settings / General / Accessibility / Voice Over / Audio

If you want the phone to switch to the speaker phone when you take the phone
away from your ear, have this setting turned on.

**To change the auto speakerphone settings do the following:

Open Settings / General / Accessibility, & swipe to the, Interaction
Heading, & the option to change the auto speaker phone settings are found
here,
Call Audio Routing, and double tap on it to open / change options, then exit
out of settings as usual.

**From: Vollbrecht Family via iDevices
If I understand what you are referring to, automatic switching between
speakerphone and the earpiece, this is based on the proximity sensor. It is
designed
so that you can pull the phone away from your ear and automatically switch
to speaker, but I have always found it to be a bit overly sensitive. In iOS
10, under settings, general, accessibility, voiceover, and audio, you can
disable this feature.

But in the latest iOS version, I can't find it anymore. I've looked in

Turning On Voiceover on MacBook Air

2019-11-30 Thread Fazil
Hi, list.

I have just ordered a MacBook Air and it would be here next week.

I have never used Apple laptop before so I would like to know how to turn on
Voiceover independently and other basic voiceover commands to start with.

Your help is much appreciated.

Thanks!

Re: iMazing

2019-11-30 Thread Richard Turner
Well, I was a private beta tester for Window-Eyes for more than 10 years.
In fact, I wrote some of the set files they included on their CD.
The problem with using it in Windows 10, is that as Windows 10 makes changes,
nothing is being done to keep Window-Eyes up to date.
Yes, it might be worth installing for this one program, but the risk of other
complications is just not worth it to me.
More power to those who continue to use it.
And, since the iMazing app is for access to iPhones and iPads, it is not off
topic, in my opinion.
But this topic is seemingly not going to go anywhere.
So, I'll leave it lie.

It was my preferred screen reader until Vespero bought it and stopped

Since it will never be updated I uninstalled it since I'm running Windows 10.

Hello List
I am not sure how Arlene can say its easy to use. I use Windows 10 and IMazing
has several unlabled buttons and when I tab to the list of items of which music
is one, JAWS says the same thing for all 18 items. I followed the steps of the
online short tutorial but I get a message that iCloud music library on my
iPhone 11 is on, so music can not be transferred. iCloud music is off and I
even turned apple music off. When I try to use the "transfer from folder"
option IMazing indicates that the music was transferred but nothing shows on
the iPhone.

Up to now the support team can not come up with a solution so I do not know if
the app is not compatible with IOS 13.2 or the iPhone 11.

You could try amazon. They may have some left over from black friday, lol.

Hello Karuna,
You cannot just buy a guide dog to take home. In fact, you cannot just buy a
guide dog period. I am going to guess that you are from India. You should
try applying to one of the guide dog training schools in the UK and/or
Australia. I have know idea if you would qualify for any of those schools
though.

If you don't reside in the UK. Then you won't qualify, to receive a guide
dog.

You could try amazon. They may have some left over from black friday, lol.

Water Minder App

2019-11-30 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello everyone,

I was wondering, does anyone here know if the water minder App is
accessible?

If so, about how accessible might it be?

I believe you have to purchase this App. I want it. But I don't want to
purchase it, if it is not accessible. I did look on Apple Vis to see if
it had been reviewed. I couldn't find it there.

Any help is much appreciated.

Thank you,

Terri

google drive

2019-11-30 Thread Paul and Paula Jordan
Hi. If anyone is familiar with google drive I could use some help. I need
to read some information using drive and my Focus 14 for church tomorrow,
and I can’t seem to get drive to back up to my phone. The document shows up
on the computer, but does not show up on my phone. When I do an insert f 11
to check when google updated it says updated one minute ago. When I go to
drive on my phone it does not show the document and it shows the 12 items I
deleted from drive on the computer.

I am running windows 10 and JAWS 20 20 on the computer and IOS 13.2.3 on an
IPhone 7 with the latest update to both drive and docs. If anyone could
offer some help I’d appreciate it. If you want to take it off list you can
email me at pau...@roadrunner.com.

Thanks in advance.

God bless!

Re: About trimming videos in the photos app

2019-11-30 Thread Kathy Brandt
Another thing is that on iOS 12, current position, where you could see the
point where the video is at when playing, was spoken in those words by voice
over with the number of where you are, whereas now, where current position used
to be, it says what sounds like keyframe, which doesn’t do anything at least
from a blind person‘s perspective, with no current position indicator. I did a
screen share on iOS 12 and iOS 13 screens at the same time with two reps, which
was sent to Apple. The one had me do a screen recording showing iOS 12.

RE: About trimming videos in the photos app

2019-11-30 Thread Richard Turner
Yes, I double checked and the 10th of a second was not there on the end time.
If you flick ten times, the second changes; so I guess a work around would be
to count your swipes; but lets hope they fix it.

Re: Hi, how to efficiently switch between keyboards?

2019-11-30 Thread Mary Otten
Hi Kathy,
I don’t have a direct answer for you, since I don’t have three keyboards in my
rotation. I got rid of the emoji one along time ago and have no interest in it.
So depending on which one you use more, if you find that you can’t get another
way in, you can go into settings and get rid of the emoji one, and then you can
easily switch from English to Russian.

Yes, you no doubt have the latest version.
Try the triple tap with one finger and see if that changes anything at all.

I uninstalled seeing AI, so on reinstall, I should have gotten the most
up-to-date version of the app; it says in the App Store that the last update
was a few months ago. It says that that update was for iOS 13. Seeing AI is
among my share options. Thanks.

RE: Hi, how to efficiently switch between keyboards?

2019-11-30 Thread Richard Turner
Just in case, when you double tap and hold, it is a slide up, rather than a
swipe.
If you break contact with the screen, which is what I think of as a swipe, who
knows what happens.
But, if you just slide, you should find your Russian keyboard and then lift to
make it your current keyboard.

I hope that helps.

2019-11-30 Thread Richard Turner
Try a one finger double tap on the image and that should bring up the context
menu where you can pick share.
If Seeing AI isn't in the list, double tap on the More button and see if
Process in Seeing AI comes up.
I'm thinking though this may be something with iOS 13 that Microsoft will have
to address in an update.
Have you updated Seeing AI?
They had an update recently related to iOS 13.

But certainly report it and keep reporting it.
I report it both to Seeing AI and Apple Accessibility.

Yes, I would say report it; I did! Maybe not the best example, but this is what
I wrote them in a follow up after writing you and them:

After uninstalling and reinstalling the app, I discovered that if I send all
images to photos on my iOS device, and then share, the images will process, but
from the Mail app, on iOS 12 I could double tap and hold on the image, and it
would bring up various options, including recognize with Seeing AI. It was so
great how it would just process , after which I could double tap on close and I
would be popped back into my Mail app to process the next image. However, like
I said, double tapping and holding doesn’t immediately bring up share options,
so, I have to double tap on the image, double tap on share, and then, once I
start recognizing with Seeing AI, like I said, it just says image processing ,
and the close or cancel buttons don’t work, meaning I have to hit the home
button, go to the app switcher, close out of mail, go back to Mail, bring mail
back up, and find the USPS message again. Please fix!

Re: Seeing AI and USPS informed delivery problem

2019-11-30 Thread Kathy Brandt

Please fix!

Hi,
Yes I have been having this problem off and on for months now sad to say.
Guess it's time to report it to the Seeing AI folk again?

I finally updated to iOS 13 yesterday. Today I tried sharing an image in the
email from USPS informed delivery with seeing AI: I just got the continual
message “processing“ and was unable to close or cancel without completely
closing the mail app and reopening. Has anyone else experienced this or,
what have you done? Thank you.

RE: iCloud music questions

2019-11-30 Thread Fanus Buys
Hello Sieghard
I actually hope it is not an automated process because then I can decide what
to download at a particular time. Yes, when I am at home I also prefer to
stream with Sonos. Its just when I visit the kids or somewhere else that I want
some music on my phone.

Yes, if you connect to any WiFi you should be able to download your music, but
please note that this as far as I know if not an automated process. Maybe Anna
can give you better instructions since I haven't downloaded music to my phone
in years. I have fiber internet both at home and at work and I'm in either
place probably 98% of my time and even if I am away somewhere, as long as I am
in Canada I have 6 Gb of data so if I want to listen to music I simply stream
it via my Apple Music subscription, the same applies to Sonos, I have Sonos at
work where we stream all day long for music at my store and at home my wife and
I also stream pretty much anything. My wife does download more music so she has
access to it when she goes to the Philippines, but since I prefer to listen to
an audio book during a long flight I just can't be bothered.

Hello Sieghard and Anna
Thanks for all your efforts to assist to get my pc music library on my new

have changed the settings in iTunes on my pc and now it is loading the music to
iCloud. Firstly, is there a storeage limit for music on iCloud? Secondly, if I
go to a place, like my son's work place where they have uncapped data, am I
correct that if I connect to their wifi network that I shall be able to

Re: Seeing AI and USPS informed delivery problem

2019-11-30 Thread Julian
Hi,

I'm experiencing the same thing as well. What I have to do is save the image to
my photos and from the photos app then I shared to seeing AI, and vision AI, or
any other app of my choice. The only one that will let you do it directly from
the email at this point, his voice stream scanner.

Seeing AI and USPS informed delivery problem

2019-11-30 Thread Kathy Brandt
I finally updated to iOS 13 yesterday. Today I tried sharing an image in the
email from USPS informed delivery with seeing AI: I just got the continual
message “processing“ and was unable to close or cancel without completely
closing the mail app and reopening. Has anyone else experienced this or, what
have you done? Thank you.

Well, good to know that Window-Eyes is working for you.
It was my preferred screen reader until Vespero bought it and stopped
development.

The only difference it could make if you use Windows 10 is if you primarily
have to use iMazing with the Jaws cursor since in many cases the Jaws cursor
under Windows 10 isn't able to read the information it could read on a Windows
7 system.

I'm on Windows 10 which shouldn't be that different in reality.

How, then, do you copy a ringtone to the phone using iMazing?

Richard, you're right, saying it works doesn't help. Possibly we can help since
we're now using the unpaid version, but getting the paid version soon.
What operating system are you on? If you have windows 7,we would be able to
help you with questions you have and tell you more. Anything you need to
transfer from your computer to your iphone, imazing makes it very easy. In away
it's a bit easier to use than itunes, being more screen reader friendly.

Actually, I'd like those questions asked and answered on list.

It has been highly recommended but no one has given any specific tips on how to
use the bloody program.
You are supposed to be able to do some things with the free version before
deciding to buy; but I'll be jiggered if I can do anything whether using arrow
keys or tabbing.
Saying it works, is not useful.
Giving some steps on how to work with it would be.

Thanks,

Richard

Jaws slows them down a bit but looks like microsoft narrator has improved a lot

iCloud music questions

2019-11-30 Thread Fanus Buys
Hello Sieghard and Anna
Thanks for all your efforts to assist to get my pc music library on my new
phone but for some reason I can not get it over, so now for two questions? I
have changed the settings in iTunes on my pc and now it is loading the music
to iCloud. Firstly, is there a storeage limit for music on iCloud? Secondly,
if I go to a place, like my son's work place where they have uncapped data,
am I correct that if I connect to their wifi network that I shall be able to
download my music. I do have enough space on my iPhone 11 for my whole
library.
