Questions regarding Powerbeats Pro

Hello everyone,


I just recently purchased a set of Powerbeats Pro. I absolutely love 
them! I wasn't quite sure I ever wanted such a thing. I couldn't 
conceive of spending that much money on earbuds, or earphones. But then 
I had a chance to check them out, and I decided to get them. It was so 
worth it to me.



I love how incredibly easy they were to set up with my iPhone. I also 
love the charging case, and how after a five minute charge, you have an 
hour and a half of usage. Not to mention, they have a wonderful sound to 
them.



But I do have a couple of questions. I am not really sure if any of you 
will have answers for me, or not. These questions aren't really 
regarding how the Beats work.



But for those of you who use these, how did you go about adjusting the 
hooks?


How did you make them more comfortable of a fit?


My right Beat feels like it is a tighter fit into my ear. And it hurts 
more, and a lot quicker than the Beat in my left ear. I want to adjust 
them. But I certainly do not want to damage them.



Also, are the tips supposed to kind of be bent down?

Those are not adjustable, correct?


Any help is much appreciated. I hope I will get to enjoy these for quite 
a long time.

If you don't want to enable the Hands Free feature you can still use the 
Amazon Alexa app  if you do the following:
1. Open the Amazon Alexa app.
2. Do not close the app, but go to the app switcher and do a single finger 
double tap on the app from the app switcher, and it should speak / work 
normally.

Here are the steps to fix the Amazon Alexa app...
1. Open the Amazon Alexa app.
2. Close the app & reopen the app from the app switcher.
3. Tap on the "More" tab at the bottom right corner.
4. Swipe down to "Settings" & tap to open.
5. Swipe down to "Alexa app settings" tap to open.
6. Swipe to "Hands free Alexa." This is  the first setting in the list of 
the Alexa app settings. Tap to turn the setting ON. Note: The setting is a 
toggle, tap again to turn Off, if in the future you want to turn the setting 
off. The next time you open the app you will be able to immediately hear 
voiceover speak. You can now use the Alexa app in the same way that you use 
your Alexa device, just say Hey Alexa ...?... to have Alexa preform your 
requested task.

Don, I had the same problem a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, there is 
a button  that you have to tap to get past this screen which is totally 
inaccessible with VoiceOver. I had to have my sighted wife tap on it to get 
past it. You can’t help but wonder if Amazon does any accessibility testing 
when making changes.

Hi Jen, u raise an excellent point.  I did not specifically check the speech, 
although I did check volume.  At any rate, whatever happened is now resolved.

I think the SE 2020 works like the newer phones where you press and release the 
volume up, then press and release the volume down then hold in the side button 
about 8 or 10 seconds and release and wait for it to come back on.

 

The first two steps need to be done quickly, don’t hold in the volume buttons

phone behaved like I would expect it to.  By that, I mean that I could flick to 
all my aps and hear everything as expected.  Hung up from phone call and 
discovered that my phone went back to doing what it was doing prior to calling 
apple accessability.  Called apple accessability tweo more times.  I was 
talking to rep and when they went to check my account, they never came back.  
This was 7-8 minutes in to the call.  I truly have never seen my phone behave 
like this.  Please help.  Thanks.

Landscape orientation on an iPad allows for a nearly full-size onscreen 
keyboard. It’s also more conducive to running two apps side by side at the same 
time.

Richard, no, I was just doing the power off button for couple seconds.  I have 
now talked to apple accessability two times and had two failed attempts.  The 
last time, I spoke with a senior advisor.  She basically ended up telling me to 
just update to 15.2 in hopes that would solve issue.  So, when it finishes 
updating, will try your suggestion.

The other thing I'd do is make sure the volume is up.  Sometimes it drops 
unexpectedly, and you don't hear anything.  Frustrating when you find one or 
the other issues has been the problem all along.

Here are the steps to fix the Amazon Alexa app...
1. Open the Amazon Alexa app.
2. Close the app & reopen the app from the app switcher.
3. Tap on the "More" tab at the bottom right corner.
4. Swipe down to "Settings" & tap to open. 
5. Swipe down to "Alexa app settings" tap to open.
6. Swipe to "Hands free Alexa." This is  the first setting in the list of the 
Alexa app settings. Tap to turn the setting ON. Note: The setting is a toggle, 
tap again to turn Off, if in the future you want to turn the setting off. The 
next time you open the app you will be able to immediately hear voiceover 
speak. You can now use the Alexa app in the same way that you use your Alexa 
device, just say Hey Alexa ...?... to have Alexa preform your requested task.

Questions regarding smart bulbs, and Apps

Hello everyone,


I am thinking it is ok to ask this here. But if not, please just let me 
know.



Anyway, we are hoping to purchase some smart bulbs for our place. We 
want to use them in our bathroom, and in our kitchen. As well as in a 
couple of lamps, if at all possible.



However, I don't know much about them. So I have started researching 
them. We have Alexa. So we would want them to work with that. Or be 
enabled with Alexa.



However, my concern is the Apps that go along with a lot of these bulbs, 
or any other device. Such as, smart plugs. I am concerned about making a 
purchase. Then having to download an App that won't be accessible to me. 
I would need to be able to use the App with my iPhone 12 Mini.



Does anyone have some thoughts, or suggestions?

I would really appreciate some feedback.

Sighhh!I'll say it once AGAIN...There is NO accessibility problem with the 
Amazon Alexa app. There is ONLY a setting within the app that needs changing. 
Change the setting & problem solved! The step by step solution provided has 
been shared here & in another group at least 5 times.sighhh, I can share the 
how to get to the setting once again, I guess if needed.

Sorry for the confusion.

I can not say for certain what is saved in the app on your phone. WayAround 
would have to confirm this, but this is what I think happens.

1, When you create and write information to a WayTag, that information is saved 
within the app, but also saved to the WayCloud for backup purposes.
2, If you change the information on a WayTag, then that new information is 
saved to the WayCloud overwriting the old information.
3, If you get a new phone, to be able to scan your tags, you will first have to 
sign into the app, and then the app will download the tag information to the 
app on your new phone.

So it is not that the information is not available on your phone, it is just 
WayAround does not have a way for you to currently access it.
Basically, all you can currently do is to read, write, or copy a tag within the 
app.

I would recommend getting in touch with Jessica from WayAround. She knows 
exactly how everything works, and would be the perfect person to share your 
recommendation with.

statement:

This makes it sound like I could access the tags on my phone, but I don’t see

The Waycloud allows you to have a back up of all of your tags in case something 
happens to your phone, and for when you want to change or get a new phone. As 
far as I know, you are not able to access the information on your tags through 
the Waycloud.

As far as copying the information that you have on one tag to a new tag, just 
follow these few easy steps.

1, Scan the old tag with the information that you want to put on the new tag.
2, On that screen, along with the information from that tag, you will find an 
edit button after the read button, just double tap that edit button.
3, Now it will bring up a create screen with all of the information already 
filled in for you.
4, Just get your new tag, double tap the write button at the bottom, and then 
scan the new tag. The information will be written to the new tag.

This makes it easy to create several tags with the same information
really quick.

It is free.  It is just the audio, of course.
You just \sign up with your email and you can go in and search for either 
movies or TV shows.  Tip, the first search field on the view all TV shows or

You should be able to download onto your phone.  Try triple tapping on the link 
and see if you can either download to the Files app, or better yet, right into 
Voice Dream Reader.

Richard, that's cool! Since I'm just using an iPhone, and no computer these

I just went to the audio vault and saw no way to sign up. Am I daft or 
what? I typed in Boys In The Hood to see what might come up and I saw nothing 
relevant, just a table with a few headings and no info.
P.S. I saw your sign off. Yes Penguins might make you smile rather than feel 
angry due to their lovely communal generous and committed ways of being, but 
the destruction of their ice habitats may wreck your peace of mind.

First, there is no way of accessing a list of all of your tags. Again, the 
reason for storing them in the cloud is for backup purposes. If they were not 
backuped to the cloud, when you got a new phone, then you would have to remake 
all of your tags again.

Now, I do think this could be useful feature, so I would recommend emailing 
WayAround and requesting that they consider adding this feature in the future.

Now to your current situation.

How about making a tag for each of your different blends, your breakfast ones 
for example, then just labeling the container with the tag that corresponds to 
what blend you are currently using at that time. That way you only have to make 
each tag one time. After that, you are just swapping tags.

I know this is not exactly what you want, but hope its helpful.

Thanks Duane,

Yes, I find BARD and braille to be a challenging combination.  

My only theory as to why the BARD app has this problem is either the phone 
resources get low which Apple will deny, or it is Gremlins.  I personally lean 
toward the Gremlins explanation. .
