Yes, that is what I did, also got free Bose speaker but have not plugged it
in for a full charge yet, someone lifted a couple of plug in bars or put
them away where I can't find them, finding an empty place to plug something
in her is next to impossible.

I think if one had access to his old email account, you could reset his
Apple ID and be able to wipe it from iCloud, unless he used questions you
don't have answers to.
