2016-09-15 Thread Chantal Oakes
Good morning, I also wonder about the messages in a thread. I hope I'm
explaining this so one of you can at least understand what I'm talking about.
When I read the messages that are in the thread basically all I want is to keep
getting the new ones, but what happens is all the messages seem to scroll
without any action from me. If I touch what appears to be the message I want to
read it just involuntarily scrolls down to the next message or even further.
This is not helpful at all.

told me was to go into settings mail and go down and turn the thread setting

Hi Robert,

I read a message earlier suggesting after you expand the messages in a thread
you flick right to hear the list. I don't know if that will show the messages
in the order you prefer.

Good Luck,

Hi all,

I have a question about the threading feature in mail settings.

I have gone into these settings, and have threading on, newest message on top
off.

When I am in the mail app, and come to a message thread, I flick up with one
finger to get to the expand thread item and double tap on it.

Now, when I flick down with one finger, I would expect to hear the oldest
message spoken.

However, I hear the newest message spoken.

It doesn’t seem to matter which way I have the order of messages sety in the
mail settings.

I am wondering if anyone else is having this issue.

Any suggestions on how to remedy this?

Thanks.

Now, if you have an iPad, apparently the reading is not so easy as Mary has

But if you start reading with the two finger flick down, the two finger touch
pauses like always.

once you open a thread of messages, go threw your rodder and find the messages
option, once you do that, you should be able to flick up or down and read your

Hi Brad,

Yes, this part works just fine.
What I was hoping for is that when I flick right to start browsing the thread,
that instead of the newest message appearing at the top, I would like the
oldest message to appear first, so I could go through the thread
chronologically.

The braille display behavior described is one of the very few bugs in iOS 10.
If you use your display a lot with mail, you may want to hold off until a fix
is posted. I use a display but more for reading documents, so this was not a
big deal for me. Also, when going through the messages in a thread, if VO
doesn't read everything when flicking down through the messages, I will do a 2
finger plick down to read from the cursor position forward.

2016-09-15 Thread Brett

Hi,

After you have tapfed on expand, you then should do a single finger flick right
to move through the threaded messages. As you flick right to each message, the
summary should be spoken. Just ask if you need further clarifications.

Hope this helps.

Cheers Brett.

Re: Mail is driving me crazy!

2016-09-15 Thread Robert Hill

Thanks.

Yes! Does anyone know if there's a way to get rid of it? If the e-mail address
is long, you can lose most of the line to it. And people using small displays
will have to pan A LOT to read around it.

Hi all.
I've noticed with braille... when reading an email message... it freezes when
going to the next line, and also puts the person who sent its name in front of
each line. Anyone else notice this?

Now, if you have an iPad, apparently the reading is not so easy as Mary

But if you start reading with the two finger flick down, the two finger
 touch pauses like always.

Re: Mail is driving me crazy!

2016-09-15 Thread Brett
I understand how it works, and when it does work it works well. But most of the
time, I get to a threaded message say with six messages I open the thread and
flick up and down only one messages read even though my route to setting is set
to messages so at least half of the time it doesn't work correctly. In case it
helps others, the best way I have found to work with messages is to flick up in
the rotor to you get to expand, double tap on expand to expand the messages
then write flick to navigate through the messages and each message 1 ounce it
summary which generally gives you enough information to know with you need to
open it or not.

Cheers Brett.

Re: Mail is driving me crazy!

2016-09-15 Thread Brett
Hi,

Yes, its extremely buy and shouldn't be mainstream the way it is currently
working.

However if when you get to a threaded message, If you flick up in the rotor
settings until you get to Expand, then double tap. This will expand the
messages, then as you flick right through the messages, the summary of each
will be announced.

The best way to deal with it in my opinion

CheerBrett. , .

Cheers Brett.

It reads straight through. At least here. The only time I have issues with
headers being read is on the iPad, which I have talked about under a
different thread. One focus difference I have noticed, and this is
consistent, if you have a message open and you hit delete, the next
message opens and after you hear the subject line, if you decide you want
to delete it, focus is no longer on the delete button. You have to find it
again and double tap it. That's a little bit annoying, especially on the
iPad where, at least for me, the delete button is harder to find.

2016-09-14 Thread dacia . luck
The one thing I don't like is how my email open as a threat at all as one
message. Is there a way to fix that? It's hard to navigate.

Re: Mail is driving me crazy!

2016-09-14 Thread Richard Turner

Ari,
Are you on a Phone?
If so, make sure the rotor is on "Messages."
Then flick up or down with one finger and you should hear message 1 of 3, or
whatever.
Once you are on the message you want to read, flick up with two fingers.

That has been working for me.
At, least I think that is what I've been doing.
Richard

thread at the top. This is behavior I'm used to from Gmail, and it feels a lot
more natural to flick down to go to the next message in a thread rather than
flicking up.
